why does this matter? Coalitions are a thing. RPK isn't a top-tier MG either.

Can't remember Scandi being any good since we have all those retarded superheavies rolling around.

Do we get some files soon? I screwed over my windat with modding (and then copied the corrupted one over my backup  ) and have no intention to Steam-repair it (because of texture mods reinstal after that), so im in dire need of a good NDF i can just slap into folder and start gaming

I can't help but imagine that this would not actually be that bad of a coalition, only major weakness I can think of off of the top of my head would be the lack of a 30AP ATGM plane; it would certainly solve the Netherlands anti-helo situation thanks to ADATS. Netherlands brings the heavy hitting power, while Canada rounds it out with some better wheeled capability and Canadian Rifles '85 give a decent ten point line infantry in a variety of transport options.
My mouth is moving, but nothing relevant is coming out. Also I cannot guarantee that my research is perfect or even remotely accurate.

I have low quality Wargame Red Dragon casts on my youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/user/XanderTuron

Dev Diary #9

Hello everyone, and its time for yet another (and hopefully last before the first public release) dev diary! This time, we are going to be covering something new. As we all know, some coalitions present in the game are very reduntant... and bad. And Entente ceased existing as a coalition, freeing up a REDFOR coalition slot... Yes, you are right, we are talking about NEW coalitions!

Lets start with BLUFOR side and their newcomer, that replaces... not really bad, but pretty redundant coalition (Dutch-German Corps) with a brand new Nijmegen Alliance! (CAN+NL)

Image

This is a pretty straightforward and versatile coalition without any obvious up- or down-sides. Both countries provide a healthy amount of good units, that fill each other's gaps. We expect this coalition to sit in pretty well, but it still has its weaknesses. (i.e. NL lack of non-RAD AA and SEAD or CAN lack of heavy tanks). While it does look pretty similar to Eurocorps, it is a different deck with its own playstyle, and as such, we believe that it will be a nice addition to the coalition roster.

As per our REDFOR newcomer, we really did not know of the reasonable combination that could give us anything solid without being overpowered. For the first time, i replaced Entente with a meme-y alliance of DDR and NK called "Big Glasses Alliance" (look up on Honecker's and Kim Jong-Il photos for the reference). But in the end... it actually ended up a playable coalition! So I present to you the "Socialist Frontier States"!

Image

This is a very unique and flavourful coalition, that favors a very ...different playstyle. The infantry tab can be summarized in one word: OVERKILL. In fact, we had to remove Mechanized specialization to avoid creating an undestructible behemoth of infantry spam. Altho it comes with a downside:You dont have a superheavy. 0. None. You need to rely on regular heavy tanks, of which you have a healthy variety and quantity, your superior infantry and mediocre AT planes. Other tabs are very solid, but they dont have any unicorn-ish units.
In the end, it's very different to all other coaltions. But we're sure it will have its players.

And because I already derped and said that this is the last dev. diary before release... lets say it's "imminent (tm)".

Is this serious?

What about the China + CSSR coalition idea that was often proposed? Too strong?

Pact has access to infantry, this is unacceptable. Disregarding manpads, atgm and fist, that new coalition's mech deck has line, shock and shock 90 if I'm correct. That's equivalent to Denmark. Unstoppable behemoth indeed!

Any plan to buff Marksmans? Because CAN+HOL SPAAG options don't look very good. Their arties aren't great either. Air tab is also weaker than Eurocorps

As a sidenote, has pathfinder's machinegun been fixed yet  ?
