Btw Razz, keldon likely warned you about this but there's one simple change that would greatly improve BD:
Japan never used the M72 LAW and the M67 RCL, but by 1980 they got the CG M2 and in 1992-93 they got the Pzf3 so:

- reequip base Shoujiou-Buntaï, JSDF Rangers, M67-Han (now Howa 84RR-Han) and base Kuteï with the CG M2 (with the required price increases).

- Hudou-Ren actually were mechanized shock infantry, a good way to solve this would be to make them a '90 shock unit with Howa Type 89, PzF3 and either 62L Shiki or Minimi and make it ride in Nana-San Shiki and Hachi-Kyu Shiki (tracked vehicles), making them basically a Japanese PzGren '90.

- to replace Hudou-Ren as motorized shock, reroll Sh-Btaï '90 into Tosen-Kyo, a shock motorized infantry (maybe light) with all previous Hudou-Ren options, Howa Type 64 (or SMG), CG M2 and 62L Shiki, available in all eras (it's available in 1980).

- Reequip Kuteï '90 with PzF3 with required price increase.

This would kill several birds in one stone: BD infantry would get heavy AT weaponry and would be much more diverse:
Japan would now provide an RPG FIST team, Sh-Btaï would now be a line infantry with more AT power while the cheaper SK lines would benefit from cheaper IFVs, Tosen-Kyo would be an interesting shock option as they are 10men so cheaper than SK Marines, Hudou-Ren would provide heavy AT shock infantry in mechanized (and outside of Marines unlike the Habyebyung), JSDF Rangers would be an interesting recon unit, and Kuteï '90 would be clearly different from the ROK Seals.

Base Kuteï and ROK Seals would now have similar weaponry but while the former has an SMG the latter has a carbine and is available in a better transport helicopter and a 5pt transport.

Since this mod focuses more on the balance of coalitions, I can't help pondering about the fate of Yugoslavia since Entente is gone.

As the second stand-alone DLC nation, what would be the advantage of Yugo? Israel is all round okayish with no major holes(maybe more FSV,and that's it) they have ATGM flavor as well, pretty attractive, but Yugo ?

no more 15pt shock, lack of good workhorse tank, more importantly, what to do with the lack of SEAD? (if there is an incoming patch to fix this then ignore me here)

there is still a long way to go for this mod, I am looking forward to the results

Decrease spike speed to Chu-mat levels (ER)

Remove avail bonus from Baltic

Mm-kay.

Wishlist and suggestions.

Cutting availability and keeping the BMP-2 on Obr.1986-stats would have been preferable. It is a modern variant, number of cards and availability hits would have been preferable way to balance it instead of standardization.

As for Jääkäri stats:
Leave the MG as it was, actually useful line inf is rare enough as it is. Balance by removing access to KT and other transports than base XAs and BTR-60s.

Introduce BTR-80s (KPVT-variant) as shock transport.

Replace BTR-50 with Mt-lb as 5pt transport.

Give base Jääkäri RPD instead to avoid Kvkk 62 line spam.

Raskassinkoryhmä should use Suomi-kp instead of M39.

XA-185KT should be a recon vehicle instead of mainstay APC anyhow.

Give the FAF MiG-21bis the better AIMs from Draken, to make it more worthwhile.

Revert the TelaK 91 rerole to 10s high-end, give those stats to TelaK 84 instead.

Base T-72M1 could use a cost buff.

Dev Diary #8

Image

Hello everyone! It's been a while, but we're back with another dev diary. This time, it's for Blue Dragons.

Blue Dragons has always existed as a bit of a problem child in our minds. It has some nice units, for sure, but It's always felt rather bland and just sub-optimal compared to the strongest coalitions, and this has been true across many different patches. It is our hope that with our changes, Blue Dragons can finally come into the spotlight and see some play at the highest levels.

While boasting an impressive tank tab and strong cheap fire support options, Blue Dragons were held back by a lot of minor factors: poor autonomy, small supply trucks, a middling plane tab coupled with extremely poor infantry based AT options made them awkward and uncomfortable to play. In our mod, we seek to rectify a number of these issues while hopefully giving them some more flavor in the process.

Our mod boasts no major changes to Blue Dragons, but rather seeks to improve them with a lot of nice, minor improvements. Despite this, some of the more notable changes will include the F-15J, Kutei'90 and the new FIAT transport for recon infantry.

Imho the M68A1 (The gun) of the Merkava IIA must be removed and replaced by another M2 Browning. IRL it can't fire when it's transporting infantry. I think all Merkava transport problems will be resolved with this change.

A-10A Thunderbolt II:
Rear armour decreased to 1

Purely balance. In smaller games this plane is really cancerous and in bigger games it was already bad before.

Gib Morskaya'90 RPG-27 instead of 26. Lesser range but 24 AP would be neet and realistish when AT-12T ingame.
