It's already been buffed. The only things canada contributed to US were AA, eryx and th-495, and US has its own IFV in the mod.

The most worthwhile buffs were the ones to Marines and the Comvat IFV, Canada still provides 10 point line infantry, Leopards for medium tanks, and armoured wheeled transports for units that are not Marines. Even with the mod, Canada still provides the US with some useful units.

I'm afraid I do not understand the question.

Canada has been ripped off in many cases, eg..the voodoo actually had a 20mm cannon as well as AA missiles, The cougar had 7.62 as well as main cannon,
The Lav 3 for eg has been around for 20 years, and was one of the first APC's to have add-on armor, a bushmaster and browning, the weight of the LAV 3 was borderline ridiculous after Canada started losing troops to roadside bombs, it wasn't enemy sniper fire that was killing the Cmndrs but the improper usage of restrictive harnesses. In Afghanistan the LAV3 in conjunction with Griffon or bell 412 where giants and heavily sought after by all coalition forces. The LAv 3 is manufactured in London Ontario, Canada, the us version the Stryker, much smaller in size, generally follows suite to what Canada does with its Lav version first. Its a myth that the US has a heavier better armed version of the LAV. The addon armor is manufactured in Ottawa Ontario and shipped out to whomever has deeper pockets. We have one of the most rigorous armed forces procurement programs in the world. The TAPV for eg has been under trials for the last 10 years and has finally been accepted into the Army this year, It has a 25 mm and mk 38 explosive(Frag) rnds, double v hull and tons of addon armor, Even the Canadian version of the M113 is still a formidable transport, upgraded power pack ,Although rumor has it that its merely a turbocharger, addon armor and cage bounding around the whole hull, The closest version in this game would be the Isreali version, Another vehicle with stupid weight and heavily modified with components as simple as troops seat harnesses, a rare oddity in the world of troops transport. A modern war game in my opinion should be about less troops better trained and better equipment, Todays armies are designed to do more with less, making technology the single most important aspect of modern day conflicts.
I asked a reece cmndr this winter about the sensor suite in the new LAV 6.0 and he flat out told me that he had no clue that the boys in London, On, probably GD Canada control it from their end, To me this meant that the soldiers where merely chauffeurs and body guards to a piece of computer hardware, there job was to drive to a given location extend the 60ft electronic suite mast and wait for the next order. When I asked what these New Lavs were worth he said somewhere around 6 million,
As far as Eugene goes with Canada they totally screwed it up, not enough reece, Canadian Army doctrine has 3 Armored reece units,(troops)some cases more to every one piece of heavy armor, this has been like this since post ww2, I believe the most armored reece that you can get in a cnd deck is 12, It should be 24-36 armored reece and 8 MBT with more HESH rnds then APFSDS rnds, The 105mm on the tanks were rifled because its way more accurate than a smoothbore. The smoothbore cannon gets roughly 1000 rnds before it needs replacing where as the rifled cannon gets significantly less and is more expensive to tool. the actual dart in the 105 is almost the same size as the 120 after the shell is discarded and the dart is fired. Modern armies went with the 120mm smoothbore because its cheaper to maintain, not because its a superior cannon. Du rnds are more terrifying is a myth, Nickel/tungsten generates almost as much heat, great for melting steel. and of course NATO approved as well. and I imagine cheaper to produce for a country that has a surplus of both. So dude talking about how Canada shouldn't be in three coalitions should understand that you should add a 4th, Cause it looks as if though we are warming up to China as well.

Canada bought the F-101B, which had no cannon.

Injuned wrote:The cougar had 7.62 as well as main cannon,

It was coaxial. Nobody has coaxial guns (except the autocannon ones on a couple French tanks). It uses the same turret as the Scorpion Light Tank, which also doesn't have a coaxial. Get over it.

/only updates F/A-18 after its electronics had become so obsolete that it couldn't properly integrate with other NATO forces over Kosovo.

The question is, when were these changes added and what affect would they actually have on its Wargame stats?

Kinda irrelevant to Wargame.

So Canada should have more units per card than anyone else because reasons.

How much more accurate under combat conditions and ranges, though? I remember hearing that smoothbore accuracy closed that gap to be almost nothing eventually.

Injuned wrote:Modern armies went with the 120mm smoothbore because its cheaper to maintain, not because its a superior cannon.

Remember, the best tank is determined by more than just most armor and biggest cannon.

Also, christ man. Use some formatting. Wall of texts do not encourage people to bother reading.

And you do realize this game is set about 1991-1995, right? Not modern day? Ash and Shadow may be what you are looking for.

Wat?

I am one of the first to ask for buffs for Canada, but what the hell is this?
LAV III is OOTF (the TUA ingame does not count as that is clearly a Bison) and does not have a Browning, it has a coaxial C6 and a pintle C9; hell, everything to do with Afghanistan specific anything is out of time frame and I think Xeno dealt with everything else.

I did some research on the Cf 101b and your correct, When Canada purchased surplus cf 101's from US national guard reserve stocks the 4 20mm cannons were taken off and replaced with aa missiles and an upgraded IR sensor suite, the upgrades were implemented in Winnipeg, Mb, It is interesting to note however that this aircraft and the cancellation of the AVROW arrow was directly responsible for the replacement of the Deifenbacher Government who went with US surplus voodoos, Bomarac AAGM's and very public controversial nuclear arms, that today have neither been confirmed or denied.

The Arrow was real and was far ahead of its day, There were 12 prototypes created and broke many of the then current records, Still in the design stage as a long range interceptor it was truly a masterpiece of the day, It was a flying freezer able to produce tons of Ice during a standard flight, Eugene should have used this Jet, in 1952-1956 there was no other jet on the planet as advanced. Never mind the ficticious pieces, Use a real jet. The foxbat is the closest looking jet in the game, unfortunately the Foxbat has 2 tails.

As for the Cougar I have a picture of one in Bosnia with Mg mounted on the turret, maybe it was not standard but in actual combat with bullets bouncing off the hull things are bound to change. I have no way of actually knowing how many were fitted, Maybe it was just the one.

The cf-18 had its day, In the early 90's they were fitted with a new suite which I can remember was expensive and controversial, they were to be fitted with a small multi-million dollar box the size of a record player that was to replace the then current avionics, It was to be the first Nato jet to be able to track and identify up to(If I remember) 26-28 multiple targets at once, this was no small feat in 1990. Especially if you consider that the challenger space shuttle was run and operated on a few GB of Ram and computer chips the size of Dictionary, And the Britts introduced MRV's with the same tracking tech.I only remember this because the 2 competing companies to do the work were from Montreal and the other from Winnipeg, The company from Winnipeg underbid and had more experience but the company from Montreal one the contract. Are stupid Bilingual policy,Due to cost overruns and newer technology advancements the work took years to complete. If the Mulroney government new that this was to set a Military procurement precedent I believe they would have gone with the company from Winnipeg. As a side note, all things military in Canada now take decades to complete, The cyclone for eg took almost 20 years to be accepted into the military, we are truly the slowest greediest Country on the planet.

As for Canadian Allies aside from the US and Uk, Canada has been partnered with Israel in secrecy for ever, the last few years has seen upwards of 300 million in arms sales, mostly high tech computer equipment, but our connection can be dated back to the sale of upgraded Centurions which were subsequently used in combat with staggering effect against the Egyptians. Its only recently the underhanded dealings have come to light and Canadians are only starting to find out now that our keep the peace modo has been all smoke and mirrors for the benefit of the tree huggers. Some like myself are proud but most in this country find it scandalous.

I still stick with my earlier comment about the size of the Canadian decks, If you want to accurately portray Canadian armed forces its all about the Reece, Canadian armed reece is the bulk of our ground forces. The LAV 3 is a reece IFV able to carry 6 fully armed grunts. In my opinion Rd should use a 5 man fire team with 7.62's, a sniper weapon, other countries have similar standards I am sure, but not to the same actual active soldiers filling this role. Canada very seldom utilizes the tank or mounted ATGM's, So increasing the size of tank decks is pointless, decrease the tank decks and increase the Reece decks.

Believe it or not, but we are still alive. A patch has been released, not so many changes, but here is the log:

  • SMG accuracy bonus for CQC no applies from 125m downwards instead of 1m
  • IFV and APC CV's got a complete price overhaul:
    • IFVs and APCs prices got changed to 100pts + what the IFV / APC costs normally with an availability of 4
    • unarmed and only lightly armoured tracked CVs have their price changed to 105pts with the same availability as jeeps
