ZZ_Win.dat files for BattleGroup Manager (v. 64564)

Postby The W:AB Noob » Tue 25 Apr 2017 05:00

Hey, 'yall!
With Steel Division out, it looks like Eugen's pretty much stopped patching Wargame. So I thought I'd take this opportunity to make one final BGM-compatible ZZ_Win.dat. This time, it has the unites.dic, battlegroups.dic, and interface_outgame.dic of all languages, including with Ukrainian! All you have to do is download the file and place it in Wargame Red Dragon\Data\WARGAME\PC\510061340\510064564, then reconfigure BGM so that the ZZ_Win.dat file path points there. I also have a link to the Wargame Mod Installer Package that was used to add the .dic's to this file just incase Eugen does actually release another patch that comes with additional .dic's.

WMI Package (In-case of another patch): https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BywlIc ... sp=sharing

Have fun!
PS, if you need help at any time with the BGM, feel free to friend me on Steam @ The W:RD Noob.

Thanks so much for this, I got the BGM up and running now. I'm quite new to this though and I don't know how exactly this works. I've been able to change up some battlegroups, but I don't know how I can save the changes into the actual campaign. Also, when I select certain units like the M1A2 (or whatever its BGM name is) and I try to add it says there was an unhandled exception and I can quit or continue. It won't let me add that unit.

You can set up which NDF_Win is modified in the BGManager settings. Top Left, hit "Configure" and direct it to the latest file or your working file. (Definitely keep a backup if you directly mod an original)

The BGManager is very finicky with how you click on things. If you get an exception after creating a unit and trying to add it, try manually typing in the new reference into the battlegroup instead of double clicking in the Units and Limitations screen.

If you cannot create a new unit at all, you need to make sure you're using version 0.8.2 of the modding suite with the BGManager. You can use the latest modding suite independently without issues.

Thanks, I got to add new units now without a problem. As for the configure, I currently have it going to

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Wargame Red Dragon\Data\WARGAME\PC\430000585\NDF_Win.dat

I am trying to mod the 2KW so I don't think that's the right path, and was wondering what I should change. So once that is done, do I hit save changes and export campaign? Also, I can;t find certain nations and units like Holland the Kust '90 in the BGM. I also have trouble finding the FOB in the BMG. Is there a fix to that?

The proper NDF_Win is located "...\Wargame Red Dragon\Data\WARGAME\PC\510064564".
You should make a backup before editing. You can change the campaign to 2KW at the top center in the BGManager.

So once that is done, do I hit save changes and export campaign?

When you save changes in the BGManager it will override the targeted NDF_Win, so no need to export campaign.

Also, I can;t find certain nations and units like Holland the Kust '90 in the BGM.

This is probably because you had targeted a game version older than the DLC nations. There is no reason to target a game version that is not the most recent (typically the largest number folder).

I also have trouble finding the FOB in the BMG. Is there a fix to that?

In the "Units and Limitations" panel, you can filter the list using the drop-down lists and enabling the filters with the check boxes.

Okay, I updated both the ZZ_Win.dat file and the updater (which also got improved UI-wise). Enjoy!

With that ndf file you gave me I put it in the file path in configure but when I hit apply it says the path is not valid. Also, how do I target the newest version of WG? Is it a ZZ file path? You can probably tell that I'm not very good with this stuff lol, but thank you very much for helping me out!
