The US Superbuff Mod! (AC-130H optional)

Postby thatAC130 » Sat 10 Jun 2017 03:41

Hey you! Yeaaaah you! Ever get tired of looking at the US' nation tab? Wish the US had a proper ATGM? Ever look at Finland and ask yourself "Why do they get an F-18 ASF?", how about "Eugen needs to give the LAV-25s as transports!". Well then, THIS IS THE MOD FOR YOU!

Thanks to me being bored and desperate to have my hands on the above units, I, with the support of a few other noticeable modders, have created this mod to help fix your needs!

Now this mod isn't supposed to be a large scale mod (nor will it ever be), only a couple of changes to the US deck to make them as overpowered balanced as I could make them!

THIS IS NOT A BALANCE MOD OR A MOD MEANT FOR SERIOUS GAMEPLAY

ALSO, THIS MOD STILL NEEDS SOME WORKING ON, TO FIX SOME ISSUES AND TO BETTER BALANCE THE UNITS.

I'M PRETTY SURE I JUST CONTRADICTED MYSELF TWICE ABOUT WHETHER THIS IS MEANT TO BE BALANCED OR NOT, BUT PLEASE DONT WORRY ABOUT THAT!

Included in this mod:

Spoiler : :
-Light Riflemen '94 - Now equipped with a Prototype FGM-84 Javelin (Due to the lack of a suitable foot mobile ATGM capable enough to take out modern Tanks, the US' Department of Defense authorized the distribution of the unfinished FGM-84 Javelin. Due to the time constraints, the "Top-down" feature has not been implemented.

-LAV-25 Transports - That's right! Due to "high demand" from the USMC and from lobbying, we were able to convince Eugen the US Government to requisition several LAVs regiments from defending West Germany, to the Pacific!

-LAV-25 TOW-2 RECCE - Want your amphibious assaults or motorized battalions to be led by LAVs capable of spotting and destroying heavy tanks by themselves? well....here you go!

-F-18 Hornet- Ever look at the Finish deck and wonder "Why do they get the F-18, one of the most iconic US Navy Fighters, but we don't?" well stop asking that, for we repurposed an outdated F-18 that no one ever uses, for this!

-(Optional) AC-130H - Come on...Its a flying cargo plane-tank-artillery unit that totally wont wreck everything on the field...
Just kidding, pray that your opponents don't spam SU-27PUs or BUK-Ms and you'll be fine! Wait...wasn't there a time where one of these got shot down by a single Strela-2?

-The proper use of the AC-130H will be in one of the comments below

HOW TO PROPERLY USE THE AC:130H IN WARGAME

Due to the fact that such a unit wasn't meant to actually be in the game, you'll have to follow these instructions to get the most use out of them:

Step 1: ENSURE THAT THE AIRSPACE IS EITHER CLEARED, OR BRING A FIGHTER ESCORT!
The AC-130 does NOT have any means to defend itself from hostile aircraft with the exception of its ECM, so its always wise to make sure that it doesn't fly alone, and not too close to their air spawn!.

Step 2: ASK YOURSELF "Is it worth risking the aircraft for this sortie?"
Sure you paid a big sum of points to call in this aircraft, but realize that you're risking 14 crewmen on a mission that they may not return from. Even if you find it worth the risk and you evacuate them, remember that once they leave, it'll be a VERY long time before they'll be rearmed and repaired to fight! Also, you never know the strength of the enemy's Anti-Air capabilities, from the high level Tors and BUKs to the shoulder fired Strella-2s, all will pose a significant risk to the plane. So make sure you have reconnaissance scouting ahead for potential threats!

Step 3: DEPLOY THE AIRCRAFT
If you don't already know how to do this, then you miiiight wanna rethink using this unit lol.

Step 4: ORDER THE AIRCRAFT TO ORBIT THE INTENDED TARGET(S), IN AN ORBIT AROUND 4 KILOMETERS IN DIAMETER TO IT
Contrary to what you're used to in this game, It's best that you do NOT order the plane to directly attack a unit, for it'll behave exactly like the other planes, which will be to dive towards the target (so to fire their ATGM's/rockets/guns). Since the guns are on the RIGHT SIDE of the plane (I know, they're supposed to be on the left side).

Step 5: RAIN DEATH UPON YOUR TARGETS
Just a warning for those using this mod, this unit IS very OP, and unless your enemies have sufficient AA or fighters to deploy, chances are that you'll be wiping the battlefield clean of hostiles (until you EVAC the plane)
Me: Wait, what? You mean to tell me that an AC-130 got shot down by a Strella-2? That's some real Bull-
Friend: NOOOOOOO
