The end of an era

Postby The W:AB Noob » Sat 9 Sep 2017 02:31

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us..."

It's a quote that's disgustingly overused, but I think it fits my time here. I want to let you guys know that I will be offline for a long time with no plans on coming back. My desktop with Wargame Red Dragon on it is at home while I am at college, and even if it were with me, I would have absolutely no time to work or even check the Forums on a weekly basis.

These past three years have been a very defining time in my life, and I have the community to thank - friends, supporters, and poison alike. I truly developed a passion for this game and tried my hardest to make it enjoyable for everybody. This adventure has taken me through WMS and WMI, editing and texturing, XML and Batch, uploads and downloads, successes and failures. And this time was shared between many, many different journeyers, you know who you are. Exploration, innovation, and implementation was everywhere, at many times, the excitement of checking the forums climbed high up on the list of priorities.

I'm not dead and I'll probably be checking about once a month. You can PM me if you are not expecting a quick response, and you can try to get me on Steam but it probably won't be quick. Thank you very much for this incredible time,

All the best for your college time :)
I'm currently running short on time. Hence, it takes some time until I respond. In urgent cases, consider contacting another mod.

Good luck in college! Had a lot of fun working together with the XML Patcher and experimenting in WMS.

I have just registered to Eugen Systems Forums to say thank you to W:AB Noob.
My own private Modification Project would have ever happened, without reading
about the many things you discovered in regard to modifying of this splendid game.

Your enormous contribution the Modding Community of Wargame Red Dragon deserves
the highest respect and appreciation. Fotunately your retirement is not absolute, as you
have pointed out. One can only hope, that you will attend to TheForum from time to time
and lend a helping hand to us all.

However It's important to determine priorities. Certainly a good education should always
have the highest priority. Keep on going W:AB Noob, and do your very best at college.
Then without doubt, you will achieve great success on that new kind of battlefield.
