Wargame 1985 Demastered
Hello there,
This is a personal project I started some days ago for personal use. I was curious and wanted to see how the modding suite worked.
What does this mod do?
I never was not a big fan of Eugen pushing putting the time frame to 1995, so I wanted to create a mod that changed unit and model to give an older flavour, while keeping it multiplayer compatible.
Note: tried it with a friend who was in vanilla, had a desync only once.
Note of 08/07/2019: after extensive test, the mod does desync with vanilla player, sorry for the inconvenience, im working on a solution.
11/07/19 Renaming unit is fixed, the model swap still cause desync, you can still put the swapped model if you want.

Here is a list of change/exemple

Thanks for the credit and checking out our mod! I think Eukie is probably also writing a post since I can see her online, but I can tell you that the SBSz are 1 Samodzielny Batalion Szturmowy, the correct name in the time period for the Komandosi.
What if Wargame stuck to timeframe?

Thanks for the information Frangible, I changed the name of the Kommandosi for the update. And yeah, your mod is really cool! ;)

Screwed up a little with my mod,
After more test I found out that it caused desync in multiplayer, so I transformed it as “reskin” with a skin installer.
Right now the unit renaming work perfectly in multiplayer,
I changed/added more:
Update 1
Spoiler : :
FRA
“VLRA Logistique” GBC 8KT Logistique (a much more used truck in the French army)

GDR
“Reserveschützen” K.D.A. “Kampfgruppen der Arbeiterklasse” (East German paramilitaries)

POL
“Spadochroniarze ‘90” spadochroniarzy szturmowych
“Komandosi” SBSz (Samodzielny Batalion Szturmowy, information provided by frangible cover)

NK
“YUCKJEONDAE” GYEONGHOWON (bodyguards)

Sadly, models swap seems to desync the game. Unlike what The W:AB Noob said in one of his message (The message being from 2015 I guess things changed a lot since.)
Do any of you have an idea how i could swap the model while the game is still playable in multi with vanilla players?

Whoops, I guess I was wrong. I thought model swap wouldn't break compatibility.
