check if others can see and login your server.
if so, your router possibly ain´t able to support the needed "hairpin"
also see http://www.wargame-ee.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=163&t=39413&p=459884&hilit=hairpin#p459884

Hi,

I just wanted to thank you for this step-by-step, which greatly helped us to install our dedicated server. ;)

Again thank you WarStalkeR, and all contributors.
Good game all.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, Uni stuff came up. Anyways, I am still trying to run the Server. it runs fine and I see no error message in the serverlog.txt.
All the ports are open and it's on a dedicated Server that I rent. All other games that I host work fine. Any tip as to what I am doing wrong?

Got the output when I run the server here if its of interest:

Hi guys, I tried to setup a server recently and got "Failed to join game room" from time to time. Sometimes it enters just perfect, sometimes - failing. Also the was and error in console: "Pending cient connection failed -> Error during reading. End of file received. (IP : 188.230.45.97:50687)". Can anyone help me out with this one?

Hi, see my thread here viewtopic.php?f=188&t=50501, basically this guide is out of date and doesn't work anymore, there are problems with compatibility of the library files etc. I wasted probably 5-6 hours trying to get the server working on centos before I gave up and went with Debian - which worked almost out of the box.

wtf cant even get past step 2:

"7za x libhelp.7z"

Code: Select all

[root@vps libhelp]# 7za x libhelp.7z

7-Zip (A) 9.20  Copyright (c) 1999-2010 Igor Pavlov  2010-11-18
p7zip Version 9.20 (locale=C,Utf16=off,HugeFiles=on,8 CPUs)

Processing archive: libhelp.7z.1

Error: Can not open file as archive

than

Code: Select all

[root@vps opt]# tar -xvjf wargame3_server.tar.bz2
tar (child): bzip2: Cannot exec: No such file or directory
tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now
tar: Child returned status 2
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now

It looks like the libhelp is not longer available on the URL in the tutorial and its currently not working without it. I would appreciated if someone could check upon the libhelp part of this great tutorial.
