Also hating the zoom level at the moment..for me it ruines the game experience.

All cc zoom levels are farder then this it has to be 2x wider..

The big issue is you can not see you refinery in your start view..i would like to see in the first part of the game i could see my refinery's

Oh god, this thread is a real pain for every "classic" RTS fan! It's supposed to be so close because you must manage base, units and scouting and thats the challenge part and not the zoom where i see the half battlefield... but it's useless to discussion with just wargame fanboys!

Stop trolling, all CnCs had further zooming out and they are the classics.

I can manage my base when I'm zoomed in.

& I can strategize and plan when I'm zoomed out.

The current view is making full use of the map and strategy almost impossible.

I can't support any UI choices that try to artificially inflate the required APM by impairing the player.

Rapidly moving the viewport was never fun in older RTS games it's just something you had to put up with due to engine limitations, it's a chore not a good gameplay element.

I don't think high level competitive players even like it, the skill ceiling on RTS viewport micro is pretty low, all it does is inflate mid level players egos because they can beat clumsy low level players in a more dramatic way without having to use much strategy.
