Maps

Maps:

I think the maps are really great for multiplayer 1x1 2x2. Infantry takes a lifetime to cross from one side to the other. The reduction is perhaps, a good idea.

In my opinion, it is also quite urban. Of course, I understand that there can not be a bank in the middle of the desert. It would be madness.
However, I hope there's less urbanized maps. Even that, sacrifice the banks.

Is there something I would love to see. The option to choose the time.

Example:
Day/Night - Sun/Rain - Fog/Snow - Random. :D

Can you imagine the people on wooden boxes (laptops) complaining about how laggy it is with all that particle effects for the weather. but it would be immersive, I believe we had that in zero hour on some maps iirc.

Well, we do know the game is going to feature a day/night cycle

Snow warrants a remake of all the assets so I don't think we're going to see that one. Rain, on other hand... unlikely but it is technically possible. Don't think the engine ever handled that sort of thing, though (for one, particles on screen representing the droplets and then the addition of another shader for the wet look).

I don't think there will be a day/night cycle or even night map. Think about it how 'd solar panels function ? Plus nothing in the gameplay suggested it.

Welp, in Defcon 1 you have building called "Accumulator", and Defcon 2 power plant does not need sun :3 However, the fact that, in beta, former was used to produce energy instead of storing it suggest that whole function was scrapped. Which is a shame cuz in the magazine it looks very nice.

I really hope there will be huge maps so you have to take control of parts of the maps (villages, crossroads, industrial areas, bridges and so on) aswell as small 1v1 or 2v2 etc. maps for fast gaming like c&c maps.

I think the bigger maps the better, but I also know that many like smaller maps for more direct harassing of the enemy base. Long time matches whit strategic key points of the map to conquer and hold is exactly what I wont, but as always, many different opinions, this is only my mine =)
