Koalitsija visible through fog of war

Postby Heimdal1311 » Thu 29 Oct 2015 13:57

Hi,

i recently played a 3 vs 3 on Guardian Rift and as always everyone built a strong defense. So i tried to break it with Koalitsijas over the island in the middle. But as soon as my Koalitsijas arrived in the middle isle they got under fire from enemy arttillery. I searched for hidden troops, but couldn´t find anything. I wasn´t able to figure out, how they can see me so I ragequit  Sry for that.

After that i watched the replay and there my Koalitsijas are visible through the fog of war!!!!!
You can watch it. Take the view of my enemy The_bad_Frag. At 22 min I come over the bridge and at 22,35 min i got under fire.
Well i think its a bug.

I cannot watch the replay atm but i have an idea how this might have happened (happened to me as well)
Chimeras Rhino-unit has the ability to uncover enemy artillery-weapons from distances if you get the upgrade from the vehicle-bay.

yes they do, IF the enemy artillery is fireing. Try a game as chimera vs AI US Army and you will see every single artillery unit across the map (or within distance) without them fireing, just driving around there. You should only see these units if they are fireing their guns.

You are right, i just saw the replay. They are visible all the time even without even firing any shot. The AMOS-units are visible all the time as well, that must be a bug.

Well you are right, i didnt remeber this upgrade.
The upgrade text says it can detect artillery in a far distance, i thik there is no need to fire to uncover.
Thx for the information

From what I remember (forgot from which post), it said that rhino counter artillery upgrade make rhino see artillery even the artillery doesn't fire.

Maybe from this: viewtopic.php?f=192&t=55052&p=864577&hilit=patch+rhino#p864577

It is ment to only see artillery trough the fog when fireing, and not while moving or standing still without it using its gun.

I found this though:

• Rhino weapon tracking radar says that it detects enemy arty when they fire except:
• NLOS-C’s are detected even if they are not firing. (Intended!)

Really didnt know that it was intended about the nlos-c. Whats the reason behind this?? Eugen please enlighten us..?

Hello,

If you seen enemy AMOS, Koalitsijas or NLOS-C's in the for of war ... it's OK because the Rhino upgrade makes enemy arty visible all the time in the Rhino's detection range.

Si it's a bug, more a bad hint.

How large is its detection range? Is it the same as its fireing range? Or larger?

My units have nightvision, thats why they can look through the fog! :D :D :D

It is very easy to hit hidden units with try and error. Most times I hit units in the fog on the first try.
You just need to look where the rockets or grenades come from. Then you shoot at the maximum range with your own units. If you didnt hit try a bit left or right. Everybody let their artillery units shoot at maximum range so you can predict 80% of the time where they are.

If you hit the artillery bombing shoud stop and you know you re on target. 8-) Then finish them of. ;)
