Surrender

Postby DeuZerre » Fri 10 Mar 2017 11:39

So, in one of the recent screenshots, we can see troops that surrendered (they aren't French).

Any idea of what happens with troops that surrenders? What do we get from that? Anyway to recapture them?

well, in the same screenshot we see that the income is higher for the person capturing them than it should be (I think it was 157 instead of 90?). May be related or not.

This conversation came up on the paradox forums, they shatter and are considered "Dead" for gameplay purposes.

Well, on the picture, they're "on their knees", it doesn't look like they want to "shatter".

Maybe they literally shatter.

would be cool if they just move to the spawn point of the player who captured them and disappear or something like this.

But then they could run into friendly troops.
I think they should just disappear.

I think they surrender like the same mechanic as in Close Combat. If the veterancy/experience is not high enough, the more fire they are prone to, the faster they are willing to surrender and are out of the game. No bonus for the enemy, except no more losses or losing ammo etc.

it would be cool if they marched to the enemy spawn and upon arriving they are lost to the player.
This would give a chance and a good reason to rescue your troops before they are gone for good.

So like in Total War? They have morale and if it is too low they break from battlefield?
