Stop making devs play. In the last stream, where one of the dev played against two players from the VIP beta, it was seriously hard to watch. And I'm pretty sure it wasn't engaging either for someone who doesn't know the Wargame serie. The solution is pretty simple:
Have two (good) players from the beta fight against each other, and devs commentate on it. That's all you need to do.
Please.
Pretty please.
For the next stream, I beg you...

Thankfully those were paradox rather than Eugen Devs, I think the Eugen Devs would put on a much better stream if allowed but... Paradox is the publisher which I guess means they want their guys to promote it.

The last stream? I'm afraid that was Monsieur Le Dressay. He didn't play very well but then he didn't speak English very well and he was having to do the same sort of talking about what he was doing that hindered the Paradox guys. I didn't see him make any particular clangers though, no knifefighting Challengers, just the usual inattentive play and large point floats that would probably result from any of us having to handle ourselves remarkably well an interview in our second language while playing a round of Wargame.

Actually, I think it should be better to have the Paradox/devs comment on what's happening in a match where they would both be "ghosts" in each team.
Like, make it a 2v2, one dev on each team, 1 player on each team, except the devs wouldn't deploy or play anything, just see what their team mate does and say what they have to say through this.
Playing while talking is a very tough process, especially when trying to explain things.

That'll teach me, I'm living in such a hole right now that I didn't even realize they'd done a second stream

revised comments to come.

Me too, but thanks to this beg post I got aware.
Its now 3 streams an the next one to follow today. Even with his not too sophisticated play, the game is impressive. Only the look and feel is still a bit arcade like, its the colors I guess.

Have two anonymous community pros play in the background while devs spectate e-sports style and comment. Proceed to fully display game while giving excellent commentary. Profit.
Extra credit dress community contributors playing in the stream with appropriate uniforms for their side with faces covered by scarf, gas mask etc so we can occupy our time until the open beta announcement with guessing who our community sourced WW-II Stig is.

Having players play and devs explain seems like the ideal way to go. It is some sort of universal rule that developers must be frustratingly bad at their own games. I've done a bit of game design, and when it comes to playtesting, I, uh... don't win.
