Re: Air-/Antiair balancing
I dont know, Typhoons have proven to be incredibly annoying to deal with because they just snipe my 88s
while making it out every damn time...

Re: Air-/Antiair balancing
in my opinion, we are still thinking with wargame at and with 1-2 close AA to shield us "almost" from anything.
you have to realize that besides AA dedicated units like bofors or flak, any unit with a browning or heavy cal, it's gonna fire right to the planes: just finished a 3vs3 game and the guy was making my light bombers just instantly go back with the aid of a bofors, a light unidentified mobile AA, crusader AA and all the top mounted guns of any half-truck/tank there... the flak fire was quite impressive to see.

Do the 88mm still do a lot of morale damage?

Related inquiry, I wonder if there is any asymmetry planned for the air equipment of Axis and Allies.
The Luftwaffe was still around to be sure but Allied fighters had air superiority for most of the campaign. Of course, I imagine this could get annoying for the German player, would be kind of harder to balance also. Still would be nice to see though, if it can be made to work.

Hoping for a better next-gen Wargame and new engine in a few years...

To be fair, they were sending them in swarms. I lost a Panther to one.Razzmann wrote:I dont know, Typhoons have proven to be incredibly annoying to deal with because they just snipe my 88swhile making it out every damn time...
I'm under the distinct impression only US made vehicles seem to be shooting at planes with their MGs. I've yet to see a Panther defending itself from planes.Guyver wrote:in my opinion, we are still thinking with wargame at and with 1-2 close AA to shield us "almost" from anything.

When you make planes the primary plane killer, it's kind of unfair to not give both sides good ASFs.kvnrthr wrote:Related inquiry, I wonder if there is any asymmetry planned for the air equipment of Axis and Allies.

Though to be fair, Allies don't get 88s.

I think there is no big difference between Bf109s and P51s(for example), especially in dog-fight. Air differences in WG is clear to see. Such as Su-27Pu and Mig-25PD or Nato planes against PACT planes. They have different AA missiles(damage) and different electromagnetic countermeasure. But now I didn't see such thing in SD.

P-51 is significantly faster, but the Bf109 turns tighter. It is 100% possible to get the P51 to overshoot and shoot him down.
It's very nuanced right now, it could be slightly exaggerated to clearly define differences.

Re: Air-/Antiair balancing
when the AA works as "moral shield" for your advancing troops, than they need for sure a range increasement.
Beside the 88s most AA needs ruther long to force-evac a plane and most of the time it than already dropped its payload and will come back after a minimum of reloading-time.
Or is moral-damag effecting off-map reloading/refueling time?

Maybe they have a 90mm AAA piece in one of the US divisions?
