Axis vs Allies balance so far imho

Postby Temujin » Fri 21 Apr 2017 16:05

I'm gonna make it short because I can't really identify the why, but basically, I can't win with Axis. I can win 1v1 with any Ally deck, but so far, I just don't have a single victory with any Axis deck. I don't know what's wrong for sure, although I think maybe Axis units are too expensive overall for a general feeling of being weaker as well. That's now looking at the numbers, just a general feeling.

I think the balance is quite good right now, the problem may be that the Axis are a bit more intensive when it comes to using their units, especially with so many more defensive minded divisions.

At least in 1v1 I've been winning pretty most of my recent matches with the 17th SS although I've put a massive focus on winning air supremacy so I can use the Ju 87G with impunity on phase C.

One possible explanation is that Allies tend to have better units for mid to short range engagements and I've seen a lot the WG3 city syndrome where people waste expansive grenadiers to avoid losing an urban area that they could simply ignore to secure more open ground.

That's a good insight. I tend to play very offensively, always did in Wargame, and always "waste" my grenadiers in cities haha.
I'll try to play more defensively and in open areas.

I suspect that you'll see a pair of upvetted Phase A Fw190A8s for the 716th Static Division :D (I think they were confirmed, they said one Static Division was in for sure). It's a nice flavour handout for what's likely to be a pretty poor battlegroup otherwise.
What if Wargame stuck to timeframe?
