bugreport: german translation of replay GUI

the repaly GUI shows the speed of the replay.
in english it looks like "speed 1x", "speed 2x" or what ever speed you are watching.

when you set the game client to german, the GUI shows "Geschwindigkeit..." for any speed.
so you can never see, if it´s 1x or 2x or whatever.

i think, the placeholder in the GUI is a bit too short to display the german translation, which has more characters than the english original text.

so maybe change it from "Geschwindigkeit" to "speed" for the german version, to avoid otherwise needed manipulation of the GUI.

yes, this is a minor issue, no question, but it would be nice to be fixed some day.
at the moment, you can only guess the actuel replay speed by seeing the clouds move faster or slower, when watching replays in the german version...

Isn't there a short/acronym version for speed? I'm sure most Germans would understand speed but unfortunately, a localized version is also made for those whom have absolutely no clue of English ...

I'd go for "Geschw." .

remove the text completely and put a watch- or speedometer-icon in front of the field. In the field itself simply have the numerical "1x" "2x" etc. Should be universally understandable

I like the "Wolke-solution" very much, as it is a single fix and will work for any translation very well, also for possibly upcoming new translations.

Unfortunately, there are no other shorter and really suitable terms in german available.

There are several occurrences of the word "Geschwindigkeit" ingame.
Could you send a screenshot of the one you've got an issue with?

it´s the replay HUD/GUI.

just set your game to german to see it "live".
in german there is no space left to show the actual speed of the replay.
so only "Geschwindigkeit..." is displayed for ANY replay-speed.



the english version shows the speed, as the text "speed 1,00 x" is shorter within it´s placeholder than the german "Geschwindigkeit 1,00x" would be ...
