I think Hurricanes were considered well and truly obsolete by the time of D Day and were only really used in the far east after the North African campaign in a ground attack role where fighter opposition was minimal.

Got a picture of a MKV with 40mm guns and seen number of pics of it on MKIV will have to keep looking for the magazine in question though sadly nearly all online results are warthunder

Considering that their operations on D-Day would be CAS and bombing, a role which they were well-suited to, I think they would do quite well.

Yeah sadly i can find no evidence albeit after only a cursory search that hurricanes we're used in Europe at all beyond the 1940 tour de France, we shipped most of them off to the USSR with a few being used in Burma post 43.

I agree though a hurricane mounting twin 40mm's would do a much better job than rocket armed typhoons at busting tanks in SD.

Still at least the Bren gun didn't get screwed over, again, in favor of some fantasy depiction of other weapons efficacy, oh wait...
