Sad to hear this. To have at least one of these features (co-op or PvP) would be great. Even if this first implementation is very basic and not yet balanced. But I think it should be already there at release, to have the advertising by the first tests and reviews.
Personally I am most interested in co-op. And even having only the option to play the tactical battles of the campaign in real co-op would be great.

So.. I guess the "Et dans l’hypothèse où vous craindriez de ne pas réussir à surveiller et gérer toutes vos unités, sachez que le développeur planche sur un mode coopératif pour la campagne." from this article (http://www.histogames.com/HTML/news/201 ... -alpha.php) is nothing to hope for?

One day a game will be able to make this sort of thing multiplayer. You have the Total War series and they have coop with only 2 players but people have wanted more players for multiplayer for years. I was disapointed that the grand strategy part was not at least coop I mean having to strategize vs real players makes a game never get old and keeps the game freash while eventually you can steam roll the CPU. Oh well hopefully we get some upgrades to the multiplayer layer of the game has well.

I wait for 'grand strategy in multiplayer' sincs Lords of the realm 2, so since 33 23Years.

Its in any developers best interest not to ignore this. It will be dangerous if they realize why. - I can not even see ONE substitute to count!

Well, for me is Coop pretty much buy or not buy.
Maybe if the MP was something completely new and
extraordinary I never have seen before I could change
my mind and buy the game.

Personally, i do not get the need for coop unless the AI is good (at least good and interesting to play against as Graviteam RTS AI).

If the AI is good (SD 44 AI after 4-6 games get very easy to counter and boring), then yes:
Coop + mods + DLC/campaign mods (best combo ever) in the future can attract a lot of players and give me another reason to buy SD2.

My sole worry is only 25 same maps to play and they do not go for a mix of semi-dynamically generated maps + hand crafted maps like Blitzkrieg or The Day After (Cuba Crisis) had. Anyway; i can understand this is too much work to ask for Eugen.

I suggest you make a trip onOpenRA , and see what can be done, if people get access to the files, and such.

You get all the comfortable things you wish every program has.
And then return to steel division and you love the higher technology, that a community cannot do, but only professional game studios, and you love THAT game again. you would like to experience with more players.

In wargame, the number of maps is not important, because you can play and learn them looooong and deep.
surfaces are not everything to scratch, but games are going to be unfold. you dig and deep messages lie in theese games.

If you detect them, it rewards you for everything... so lets dig for gold!

What I find sad about SD 2 is that it will kill Eugen. And I guess it will be their fault, going into something that nobody wants ( just see the sales stats, they want to make you cry comparing the WG serie to SD) and the only thing that people ask for (just see the forum how it is dead compared to the previous launches, remembering RD or ALB when people posted every 1-2 hours) they are not going to deliver

The reason the forum is so empty atm is that there isnt anything to talk about.

The only thing we have any information on is the strategic campaign which for me the takeaway is its simgleplayer only so unless they suddenly got an amazing ai is just not interesting to me.

All the other interesting questions like how exactly SD2 will change compared to SD just arent answered or even hinted at so nothing to discuss.

It's really a shame people aren't more excited about SD2. Steel Division really represents the culmination of everything released by Eugen since Wargame EE. It is the most technically excellent title and the balance is really good. It also has the best infantry combat mechanics of all of their games released in the last 8 years. It also hits, at least I think, a really nice balance between gameplay balance and historical authenticity. It's a very authentic game that rewards good strategy and well executed maneuver warfare. Something I feel was lacking in Wargame. I'd really like to see SD titles set in the Cold War as well, I love SD's gameplay and love the Cold War aesthetic of Wargame.
