We were talking about a french author, Jean Lopez, who has been writing some very good quality books about WW2 (despite some minor errors), especially about the eastern front.

Soviet "Beute Panther" (actually, designated T-5 Pantera) on their way to Warsaw:

But those where captured in the course of Bagration.
At its beginning, there was a Soviet tank brigade with two captured T-6 Tigr though ... ;)

Just occurred to me... name is now Steel Division 2 ... simple and short, not Steel Division: Stalin Says I'm Coming For You.
There might be something out of this game yet. :)

Salut Crotou :D

Translate by google ;)

I am not very much on the composition of a division. The modes of calculation (material in repair, in endowment but transferred momentarily, intox of the adversary etc) must allow some errors. I will not be among the number of tubes.

On the other hand, to know the operational aspect of the eastern front which, by its gigantism leads to logistical difficulties determining (determining train, instead of the road to the west), the crucial importance of the front in depth with its fortified points, minefields, the work of the sappers (crossing the many rivers, destruction and repair of bridges, railways, etc.), different types of bombing and ammunition etc, these are the operational aspects that attract me . Here we announce another dimension, operatic.

In Steel Division Normandy44, the depth of the battlefield makes ballistics non-historical, but the use of the off-map bombardments, the constitution of the assault groups, the preparation, the reco, the tactical aspect plunges you into a very interesting. In SD2 the tactical aspect also takes other dimensions, even if the volume of unity is necessarily restricted in an equivalent space (distance between tanks, between support unit, etc.), we are talking about a larger map ... quoted the books of Lopez, Baechler, Bernard, allow to form an idea of possible stories returned to play ... The question is how the teams of Eugen will be able to make all that ??
