In a warzone there will very likely be CAS and CAP aircraft on patrol near the front lines, thus decreasing the time needed to have them be callled in to you local battlefield.

Hi,

Here is what I gathered from the interview at Gamescon (available in French here : http://www.gamers.fr/actus/2012/08/24/gc-interview-wargame-airland-battle-part-1) :

- Aircrafts will be called-in from the nearest available airfield, off-map. The closeness of said airfield might depend of how well you fared in the strategic part of the campaign. Maybe for MP you get airfields that are on equal distance for each side.
- Depending on the speed of the plane you called, it will take more or less time to arrive on the battlefield. It will then enter it via a secure airway, I guess in the way you can secure a reinforcement zone.
- Once on the battlefield the plane will execute the original order, and stay available for some time, depending on the fuel and ammunition payload. When one of those is spent, the plane will go back to its airfield, refuel, rearm, and signal for availability.

There was no mention of plane to plane combat, however.

If you can understand French, you should go check it out, the also explain the dynamic campaign concept, and how it ties with a story at the political level.

I hope Air would be similar to what was in World In Conflict.

If you dont get your attack area correct then your planes will bomb empty space with no enemies in it.

I think you should have a look at R.U.S.E. to get an idea on how airplanes are working within the IRIS engine.
