Customisable loadouts?

Postby Alex18762 » Wed 6 Mar 2013 20:09

In ALB will we be able to add whatever ordnance we want on our aircraft in the deck? Gameplay experience could be a lot more enjoyable not to mention more authentic(for example Su-25 has a way too many loadout combinations).

What would be the disadvantages of having this feature?

What should be expanded on OP?

It would be incredibly unbalanced if for instance i replace all of my Apaches weapon pylons with Hell fires. That kind of thing shouldn't be allowed in game.

AFAIK...

Loadout foe helicopters cannot be changed.

Loadout for planes are premade and you can choose between them. And that of course might cause balance issues as more options available always equals more balance issues.

Well, each missile or bomb could have a cost associated with them that is reflected in the final cost of the unit. Create a loadout for an A-10 that is nothing but maverick missiles, or purely hellfires for your Apache? Be prepared to pay a higher price for such a pricey loadout, compared to loading the A-10 out with dumb bombs or the Apache with rockets.

Whats so imbalanced? 16 hellfire apache you get a powerful dedicated tank destroyer helo but with poor HE. And vice versa, you would be able have your helo or plane to have only rocket pods, whatever suits your taste.

Hm i suppose but i can just see certain load out types creating an unequal balance of power in game.

But it's quite all right that the Mi-28 is able to get 16 very good ATGMs though compared to 8 for the Apache, right? In addition to getting rockets.

I think that preset loadouts (with some variants ofc) is fine per example we should get at least 3 F-16C: (SEAD, CAS and CAP)
