I personally use M1A1s as the spearhead backed by Pattons and Sheridans. Not exactly tanks, but TOW equipped Humvees and Avengers are also an integral part of every attack. I'm still not sure if this is the best idea, but I've had good luck with it so far.

A couple M1A1's and Brads can keep a T55 and T64 hoard at bay indefinately. Goes faster with some helos. AAA is a must, an Avenger is usually adequate and can fire on the move which is handy. Throw in some stinger teams with dragon 113's to fill any holes.

You got to be a micro'n MOFO however.

Basically, taking a US tank means youll need some arty, some helos, some inf.

For Pact, I can get by on tanks alone, with some AAA. Arty/planes are a bonus.

I like the M60 line of tanks.
So I usually take 2-3 different M60 variations and either MBT-70, Sheridan or M8 AGS.
I don't really like the Abrams line as they are to expensive for my taste.

So a typical tank selection for USA national deck is M60A1 Patton, Super M60, Starship E2, M8 and MBT-70.
For general nato deck I like to include either Sheridan or a Starship and maybe a M60A1 Patton or M60A3 depending on the deck I want to create.

Super-m60 because it's just a cheaper version of the M1A1 just has alittle weaker frontal armor. M1A1, M1, M11P, and Patton. I don't use tanks much, and when I do it's for last resort needs.

I really dont bother with medium US tanks like the patton, i use french ones; yes just as survivable but they are fast and accurate. I also use the chieftain with the french tanks as a good combo.

The abram is ok i use it somtimes as a cheap heavy

1x M1A1, 1x hardened M1IP (16 M1A1s and M1IPs are enough for me), 2x hardened M60A2E2 Starship and 1x MBT-70.

The two latter tanks are my main force, with Abrams called in when a high AP main gun is needed. Note my deck is heavily based on the combined use of airpower, M109A6s Paladins, armor and infantry, and the Starships and MBT-70s offer relatively effective ATGMs and cannons, especially since they fire HEAT rounds, so I don't need to get M150s for example.

AND M60A2E2 AND MBT-70 ARE CULT OF THE AUTOCANNON APPROVED !
BECAUSE HUNTING CHALLENGERS WITH MIG-31S WAS TOO EASY :
