I would like to see a pause feature implemented and as someone else mentioned a system like the Battlefront Normany considered. I know of some who pass on ALB due to a lack of a pause feature. They simply don't like getting into a clickfest.

There is a lot to keep track of and while I understand the argument that I sometimes heard that in war there is no pause button, a theater commander managing a battlespace like the one depicted in ALB would have a staff assisting him. Here you're doing it all.

Thing about real time strategies is that... yes you guessed it... run in real time. Pausing with ability to give orders is not real time at all... unelss it is a lag spike in MP.

WAB is MP oriented RTS, and, f.i. like SC, dont have commands in pause mode. and i dont want it as well as new bugs during it's integrating.

Amen.

Yes I hear the psudo realism argument sometimes. It's wrong Period.

Even grunts pause in battle. Take some time, look around, assess the tactical situation, make a new plan and issue brief orders. And redistribute ammo ect.

Also, the time in RTS is not "Real time" as it would be in combat. I many ways things happen a whole lot quicker in RTS than real. Pauseing in game actually adds to 'realism', and I missed it of the op list.

If its in SP, none of the arguments against matter! If you don't like it don't use it. SIMPLE. Yes it is a RTS, and it will always be so in MP. Why would you give a ___ about how I play SP?

I personally don't even need to be able to issue orders, I'd just like to be able to pause, and look around and take sweet screenshots.

Pause and zoom around would be lovely for SP Eugene, please and thank you.

Exactly in SP only. Unless two people say hey lets have 2 pauses each or something.

Pause and look around with zoom would be great. With orders the love explosion, and yadda yadda yadda :D

Just to be clear I'm not asking for a pause in multiplayer.

I'd like to see one in SP where I will probably spend most of my time in. Also if a system like the Battlefront Normandy could be implemented where you issue orders then have it play out for 60 seconds with ability to pause, rewind and fast forward we could take the time to admire the time put into the graphics.

In solo skirmish maps, I think this would be wonderful. It's a good early learning tool, giving you time to pause and consider what is happening and how you can best react to it. And yeah, being able to spend more time enjoying the beauty of the game is nice.

That said, in Company of Heroes, after a hundred hours or so I stopped ever using the pause feature because I felt that if you get in the habit of pausing, you can plateau your abilities. You need to be able to do a match without the luxury of time before you'll ever be very good in PvP.

Still, no reason not to have this feature. I'd use it in my skirmishes all the time, it's a kind of game that really wants it.

SP is just a training before MP and there's no P&O in MP.

Not everyone is going or want to spend hours in MP. I'm unsure myself. I used to spend hours ages ago playing Airwarrior online and played 2 full campaign games of War in the Pacific-it usually takes over a year to finish a single campaign.

Its pretty obvious ALB has a steep learning curve and I'm not sure I have the time to spend online learning all I need to know. I also don't know how the online community is. I tried the Company of Heroes online for a while before I got irritated.

In any case many like SP. Its up to the devs to decide. I'll live with the decision.
