ELO: 1507 (was 1525 but 2v2 without a team is rough to say the least)
Rank: Corporal
W/L: 12-12 (though I won my past 4 games as I learnt how to play)

General Tips:
-Play at peak times (2000+ players) to get a better range of people so you get to play both more experienced players and learn off them and less experienced players who you will be closer to your skill level.
-Make a dedicated deck for 1v1. 1v1 is like no other gamemode in that you must be self sufficient. For example I use a UK or interntional deck in most games as I play 10v10 or 2v2/3v3 with a buddy, who can provide AA and ATGM, but inranked I use and all USA deck.

Deck:
LOGISTICS
-Armoured commands
-Supply Trucks, not FOBs
-Supply Helos are an option if you want them, but by no means are they essential

INFANTRY
-Get some cheap, spammy infantry for early game zone taking (motostrelki in BTRs are perfect for this)
-Get some Konkurs teams
-Get some heavy, assault infantry (the russian marines are good for this) to clear hostile towns (use smoke to allow them to get close)
-Iglas are good if you want to take a town early on, since bombers are good counters for infantry in towns.

TANKS
-1 pack of heavies
-2 packs of light/medium

SUPPORT
-IR AA (to be deployed if the enemy is fond of SEAD) like the tungksta, and radar AA
-Mortars
-Big guns are optional, personally I have'nt found a use for them as most of the 1v1 battles happen over small areas are quite small, but I have seen them used well in 2v2 and 1v1 on occaision.

VEHICLES
-Ranked relies on large amounts of medium/light units, so tanks destroyers like konkurs jeeps are excellent and stuff like the shutrum can terrify a whole battalion.

HELICOPTER
-Entirely optional, my pact ranked deck has a pack of Mi-28, but they are rarely used except for countering flanking units.

AIR
-Get a bomber, the Yak-38 is exceptional at clearing infantry from towns
-Get a long range interceptor (MiG-31) to counter bombers as frequently you may forget to keep things in an AA umbrella (especially be wary of enemies bombing recently taken towns, i do this)
-Get SEAD as it can generate free points and even if it is shot down it will give you locations of hostile AA and shoot the radar ones.

On gameplay, get lots of cheap units, cap a lot of zones and reinforce constantly. This will generate alot of points and force the enemy into attacking you (if he doesn't then smoke out and bomb/ assault his towns as he will most likely have filled them with infantry. Oh and send an infantry force in the first ten seconds to cap a town but be sure to take some AA to fend off mr Strike Eagle.

Hope this helps,

George

Sup,

first of all I didn't read any comments besides yours, so I dunno how much is already that. But you deck is missing a few key units, you can play nearly anything but specific units is a must have particularly in 1v1/2v2 or it's really hard to win for you.
So let's analyse your deck real quick.

Logistic: You need a armored CV -> BTR-70K (140) - Get rid of the FOB it's useless better to have a second URAL-4320

Infantry: You really need more of this, even if NATO has the better Infantry you USSR had a few good ones too and you need them for cities, woods and ambushes.
MOTOSTRELKI / BMP-2 (30 + 10) - That's the only unit that can handle the US MARINES / LAV-25 rushes you don't need BMP-3 that's too expensive.
SPETSNAZ / BTR-60PAI (30 + 5) - Always get the BTR and not the URAL. It's is faster, armored and has a gun that can deal a little damage just for four more points.
PTUR KONKURS / BTR-60PAI (35 +5) A must have.
MORSKAYA PEHTA / BTR-60PAI (25 + 5) - Not the best unit but has 15 strength (men) so it's perfect if you fight a big group of Infantry in the woods and need to counter it, if it's not a 15 men group too you can easily kill it.
VOV / MI-BT (20 + 15) - Just because I like to have a unit that can sneak around and attack from behind always good to kill the main CV = no more planes for him.

Support: Get rid of all besides the 9K37 BUK-MI and add.
2K22M TUNGUSKA (75) - And after you spawn it and clicked on it turn of the 30 mm fun 2A38M by clicking on it because it's RADAR (no more planes with SEAD rockets) if i see a big air attack or it's alone and Infantry is near, I turn it on for better support but other than that it's always off.
BRDM-2 STRELA-IM (30) - Non-Radar and 150 km/h fast on the road perfect for Helicopter hunting.
TOS-1 BURATINO (150) - Well this cheap ass thing is OP. Never shoot all rounds just stop it after 5-10. But do it right and you can push/get back any city with it.

Tank: Wow that one really hurts no T-80U? Aww my heart. Delete every tank besides T-72B1 (90) and T64BM (95)
T-80U (170) - Best tank in the game on max range no one can harm this beast so always try to max it (2800 m) in the best situation any good tank like LEOPARD 2A4 etc. is heavily damaged or dead before it even comes in the main gun range of around 2200 m.
T-55A (20) - Cheap and gets the job done, much better as your T-62.
T-64BV (135) - Better gun as the T-80BV just for 5 more points.

Recon: MI-2 is awesome. Delete RAZEDKA. And no need for a vehicle that as a gun, they became visible while aiming/shooting and that's the last you want. Besides you have the SPETSNAZ infantry that can spot for you at the front line. So no need for a third RECON.
SPETSNAZ VMF / BTR-60PAI (30 + 5) - Better as the RAZEDKA.

Vehicle: That hurts again. You're missing the only useful VEHICLE in the whole game.
BMPT (80) - This is a real infantry killer, they will falling like flies.

Helo: Delete one MI-28. Oh now I have nearly an heart attack... no KA-50 AKULA.
MI-24VP (85) - Nearly as good as the MI-28 but much cheaper, perfect against any tanks besides the real heavy LEOPARD 2A4.
KA-50 AKULA (130) - Really awesome for countering any other Helicopter and if his his ground rockets hit they will hurt a lot. Always have an URAL around so he can land and fill up his ammo.

Plane: I don't really like any PLANES you have besides the MIG-295 (160).
YAK-38M (70) - Really cheap, awesome and you get three planes it's slow but 4x 500 kg 17 HE POWER bombs really hurts even if it hits good any tanks. Just don't fly to far behind the enemy lines use it if someone rushes a city and has not yet any AA around or if someone is pushing and comes to near. I have six of them because I like them so much.
SU-24 (135) - SEAD missiles. Awesome anti air radar plane.
SU-275 (170) - My Interceptor wins against the F15A EAGLE (140)

Well that's about it. PTUR KONKURS, SPETNAZ, 2K22M TUNGUSKA, TOS-1 BURATINO, T-80U, T-64BM, T72-B1, BMPT, KA-50 AKULA, YAK-38M for me are the key units that I never miss in any USSR deck.
This is my deck http://i.imgur.com/EqbAduX.jpg and I'm doing really good with it.
I'm not a Pro Gamer, I'm still learning this game but I was always good in RTS games so if someone has any tips or suggestions please let me know.

Regards

RANK: Major
(In top 20 of leaderboard)
Played over 100 games with a victory ratio of about 70%
Not a heli spammer or any other kind of lamer

Now that most 1v1 ranked maps are quite large, its all about map control, recon and air superiority.

So yes, you do need lots of air superiority planes to protect all that airspace with a decent combat air patrol (CAP). Ask Duezerre and Onceover what happens if you think you can get away with not having decent and well managed CAP against me.

You also need lots of cheap (but not terrible 5 pt infantry) infantry in fast vehicles, one pack in cheap fast helicopters, the other in a lightly armored but fast apc with some sort of MG on it. With these you will be able to secure key positions and choke points early in the game which is absolutely vital.

Always guard your CVs with infantry and AAA/IR SAMS at least.

Use cheap recon infantry that u can spam all over the map and actively scout with, as they arent easily detected. If you cant see your enemy you cant plan against him. Also where are ur ATGM infantry? They are vital area denial units that are very hard to dislodge from buildings

Dig in and defend when you are winning by a decent margin, attack if hes spread thinly. Recon is key to knowing what to do.

Those are the basics, to build on that, you need to formulate some sort of standard battle plan you use for when you have to go on the offensive, like when you are down on points or your opponent is a much lower ranked noob who wants to just sit there randomly lobbing arty shells whilst humming trololol. This means microing ur front line units, providing protection against helicopters with AA, setting up Radar AA, advancing your recon, maintaining Combat Air Patrol, calling in air support, depolying smoke effectively, protecting your flanks, resupplying your units and more, all at the same time! It takes practice and time to get good at this.

Everything that deuzerre said is sound advice except for I think your plane mix is actually quite good, if you use it correctly. I dont recognise anyone else's name here besides him as anyone of significance in ranked gameplay.

Ranked is where its at, dont listen to anyone that says its a camp fest or that taking the initiative/attacking is a bad thing. If you are persistant, watch your replays, willing to learn and dont mind losing a few games you will inevetibly become a highly skilled player by playing ranked.

Some really nice advices here, but some of the advice givers havent read the opener i conclude.

I read it and think he want to play pact. So i just can give him the +1 not to play ranked.

If you want to play ranked you need to play Nato or be a very expirienced and skillful player in my opinion.

Keep in Mind ranked is not for fun. Every possible exploid will be used, the most effective Deck and the unlike to be countered tactics you will face. Those who search the challenge in ranked, are already bored by the other game options. The bout 7% who fight and train hard in 1vs1 ranked can easy be ignored as in WargameEE.
Natural target of a player in ranked is win as fast as possible, with a minimum of risk to earn as fast as much ELO as possible.

Unbeaten Nato + in my opinion for 1vs1 games.
Fast cheap ground taking units in opening phase.
Better and cheaper Air units.
Better / for its effectiveness cheaper Inf.

Just my expirience. For the good the ranked matchmade has improoved pretty well.
And i post my last try as pact:

I am happy that Eugen banned the Command Stars and improoved the ranked system, so the prurposes why a player plays a game is dividet. Those who want to have nice games and those who just want to win.

Keep your FOB. It will soon payoff if you prepare for a longer battle with a cautiously approach and make good use of mortars or heavy artillery.

The best players ive seen are aggressive, balanced players who use combined arms, have a very clear idea about what they are doing, and wont lose to silly things like leaving a road that leads to ur CV unguarded or leaving ur CV itself unguarded.

Some of these players play PACT believe it or not, and ive lost to many of them.

Whilst some at the top of the leaderboard are pathetic lamers who do stupid things like heli spams, they are not all like that, in fact i have been heli spammed ONCE out of all my games... and I won anyway.

Yes of course, no helo spam needet, you know what your talking bout and i agree.
But the main diffrence 1vs1 ranked and lobby play: You will have no clue what will happen. No clue bout map, no clue bout opponent, perhaps pact vs pact.
So its more safe to bring lame things that cant be properly countered with a usual deck or give huge advantage in map control.

Perhaps watch the replay and see what i did wrong, or it was just bad luck?
wtf board attachment quota has been reached....by 0?
