Make the LAV-25 a USMC prototype.

Postby stug41 » Wed 19 Jun 2013 08:13

Stop nerfing the LAV-25. The biggest complaint is that it's used so often, then make it a prototype! A further nerfed LAV-25 hurts the USMC too greatly while not actually solving the problem. Then people will just go back to complaining that the only viable decks are U.S. army and USSR. One less viable deck...

Hmm. Sure why not. I support this idea.

As in USA couldn't use it?

Hell no...

That just encourages decks of 4 Tomcats and swarms of LAV-25s... without much else. I mean its fine right now, I don't think it needs nerfing but to force you into that role if you want to use it is horrible.
If there's two kinds of players, those that like challenges and those that want a fair game, pubstomps should make everyone happy.

Could someone tell me how to get this class C deck with LAVs from 1984?

Give it two AP and 1750m range and make it more affordable....

That's all that's needed....

Disadvantage of marine special is that LAC can still be used in US general ^^

Anyway I do not understand what is the problem with nerf that would surely follow with price buff making thing more affordable.

Reality?
If BMP-2 has 2AP on 1575m then Bushmaster can have 2AP on 1750 or 1925m. On range 1575 it would have 3-4AP what, I think, roughly represents data quoted in the other thread.

Or no?

Why do people still complain about it? It dies to anything and can only kill anything over Armor 7 within 525m due to AP scaling.

About every single PACT MBT of any period T-55 to the T-80U can not be penetrated from 1925m down until 525m.

Then at 525m only 3 of the USSR's tanks (all T-55's) can be penetrated in the front.

Then we get to the range where ANY kinetic energy weapon does damage. A 5pt BTR can kill the T-80U at this range and the 35pt LAV will too.

If you have your tanks in a location where they will engage or be engaged by targets within 600m you are being a bad player.

The LAV or any of the autocannons are hardly the problem. They shouldn't statistically be able to damage a single PACT MBT that is more expensive or equally expensive to them. If you statistically have to engage a target within 500m/175m then the odds aren't in your favor when it can engage you effectively at well over 1900m.

The problem is in a forest the bushmaster dominates all. Plus it does great in its intended roll of destroying light armoured vehicles. I also speculate its ap scales more then 7 at 525m. Remember armour was doubled in ab so ap scaling probably is too.
