Campaign thoughts or a ramble

Postby Yorkiesand23 » Fri 12 Jul 2013 16:39

hi

I like playing the campaign, after the initial discomfort of the 20 min limit I got used to it or I increase the time. Please do not ask how I can do this, if you search you will find it. But i have to admit if there was a new feature to have a different time that would be good.

One thing I would really like to be able to do is to build a custom deck to add to the campaign, have the Brit 7th Armd Bde launch into battle or NATO AMF Brit Para Bn, French Para Bn etc.

Now the ultimate for me is to recreate the campaign on the central front inc northern - how awesome would that be, just add Belgium and the Netherlands. So EUGEN will you be planning on doing this? I hope you do as it would have me playing a campaign in real time so to speak - it would take a month or two to finish.

Looking at the orders of battle and the amount of maps, I think I may be waiting a while - but wait if we had mod tools...... I know I will shut myself up.

But EUGEN a central front campaign like one you have for the northern front would be Nirvana, if you want any help on OOB and TOE I have the full works of PACT, NATO and Neutral.

Anyway keep up the good work.

Custom decks or less unbalanced, tweakable decks (still much the same but with options to change loadout), would go a long way. Some decks are just not terribly good or even very fun to play with.

Are you saying that you've managed to mod the game to get more time in the campaign battles, or saying that you've previously mentioned/suggested an idea to Eugen how they can increase the time limit?

If it's the first option, I just tried searching and cannot find it.

There is a hack / trainer out that edits the memory location storing the time. It's probably of questionable intregrity and is certainly not a supported program. If you search on the wargame airland battle steam forums some people mention it.

I agree. A big part of the campaigns' appeal for me is commanding "relatively" historically accurate units. Sure some of them are sub-par to what a competent player could build with the same amount of points; but that's what makes it fun - you have to do with what you've got, rather then building your own perfect meta deck...

Peace,
