Hi everyone,

I thought about something to represent the evolution of ammunition, armor, etc.. through the years, instead of 'stupidly' freezing stats and prototyping things for balance.
Why not implement the ability to set at what year our game is running ? That option would be settable in lobby, along with victory points and so on.

That way, the 1978 Kobra ATGM would not perform the same as the Kobra in a 1985 game, improving authenticity and realism. Tons of other examples applies, mainly about ammunition, maybe also about armor (the LAV-25 would probably get 2 armor in a 1989 game).

Would it be hard to implement ? And if there any hope for this to be looked into ?

Our tanks do this all the time. In AP due to the shells they use.

I already suggested the thing for the Kobra but IMO what they really need is a ROF buff and accuracy buff.

I feel this would involve some major coding, probably something to look for in the next game.

This would be extremely research and coding intensive. Not to mention a balance nightmare...

Lol yeah, after some reflexion I guess that would be a nightmare, yeah :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
Or maybe just do it by categories (pre-1975, 1975/1980, 1980/1985, post-1985).
But, yeah, I guess it is a unfeasible thing. Maybe for WG3 then :mrgreen:

don't get me wrong, I think being able to set the era for battles would be awesome. just won't be possible for W:ALB unfortunately.
