Mi-2 or Mi-9?

Postby Scharnberg » Sat 10 Aug 2013 18:55

Ive been really conflicted about if i should bring the Mi-2 or the Mi-9 recon helicopter.

At the momment i use the Mi-2 as you get 4 compared to the 2 you get if you take the Mi-9.

Havent really tried to use the Mi-9 as much as a single time because of thats fact.

and well i just want to know, if you guys think its worth it to take the Mi-9 instead of the Mi-2?

I get Mi-2 since my recon always gets shot down. :?

I prefer Mi-2. But for me, recon helicopters are so vital that I can't risk being without one. If you're the type of person who's really careful with them, and almost never loses a recon chopper, the Mi-9 is worth it. If you regularly get your recon choppers sniped, it's not worth it.

As mixed - always Mi-2Ro one and only.
Otherwise - Mi-2.
Quite easy to lose a chopper, since because of optics it has to be closer to frontline.

Mi-2. It is smaller, which is good. Also, it is cheaper and the chances of it being shot down are very high.

My helicopters always get ganked one way or another, so I choose the one with more availability.

Mi-2 they always get shot at so I figure I might as well sometimes use them as bait for fighters

I take both myself. I like to have 3 recon units in my deck 2 helos and at least one inf. You can never have enough recon on the field I say.

Keep the expensive recon choppers back at safe distance. Send the cheaper ones for more risky missions. Always keep a recon chopper with my assault helos, greatly increases their effectiveness however the mission is too risky for the expensive scout I think.

I take both as the Mi-9 is tough enough to survive 2 missiles from most SAMs and an attack run from most jets...something the Mi-2 cannot do.

So for early game where suicide jets are common I use the Mi-9 (especially as it has exceptional optics which is a real advantage early game) but later I switch out for recon infantry and Mi-2
