Immunity Period for Random Terrain Events?

Postby ProtzY » Sat 25 Jan 2014 07:21

I feel units called into forests shouldn't receive these penalties for about 3 seconds after the unit spawns, giving ample time for the unit to leave the terrain and go to the front.

Some spawns are inside forest and sometimes units become detracked/stuck in the mud and it can get really annoying especially when trying to reinforce/resupply after an assault. It's even more frustrating when the rough terrain tiny and only a millisecond can cause a unit to stop moving.
thoughts?

I agree. Small change that could get rid of some frustration.
NEXT TIME I SEE A DAMN FLAMEWAR INVOLVING DARTH-LAMPSHADE, FROSTPOOKY, LONERIFLE, FADE2GRAY, TROTSKYGRAD AND/OR ANYONE INVOLVED IN A DISCUSSION BETWEEN THEM I'M GOING TO HAND OUT BANS TO ANYONE USING ANYTHING LOOKING REMOTELY LIKE AN AD-HOMINEM

Nah....
I get your point, but I like it, adds a sense of realism and some immersive experience.

...that units spawn in forests instead of on a road?

I don't know if this is plausible, but I feel that the % chance that a unit gets stuck in the mud/detracked/etc should increase over time, starting from zero. That way a unit doesn't get detracked by driving over a shrub.

The whole random failure system is broken.

A vehicle especially designed for driving and fighting in grass and forests (like the BMPT) is every game out of service for 1/20 of the time (40 minutes match). That's not realistic, that's annoying.

Even German World War II Kingtiger (Tiger II), that had many mechanical flaws, had a higher operational status.
