My general purpose Soviet Deck (in words since image was to large :\)

LOGISTICS
1 x BMP-1K
1 x FOB
1 x BTR-70K
12 x URAL 4320
16 x URAL 375D

INFANTRY
1 x Moskaya (BTR-80)
1 x Motostrelski (BTR-60)
1 x PTUR Konkurs (BTR-60)
1 x PZRK Strela-3 (BTR-60)
1x VDV (Mi-24P)

TANK
1 x T-80BV
1 x T-80
1 x T-64A
1 x T-72B1

RECON
1 x Mi-9
2 x BRDM-2
1 x Spetsnaz VMF (Ka-29TB)
1 x Razvedka (BTR-60)

VEHICLE
none

HELO
2 x Mi-24VP

AIR
2 x MiG-29M
2 x MiG-29S

This deck is ideal for my more defensive playstyle. The use of lower tier helis and aircraft allow me to not actually care about losing them. I've also rather fell in love with loading Mi-24Ps with Strela-3 infantry and using them to disrupt enemy supply lines.

Infantry wise it is pretty balanced with some infantry for any possible situation.

Armoured wise I have balanced it out between higher and lower tier units, but nothing special.

Support wise I've focused on anti-air. The goal is to set up AA installations almost everywhere consisting of a BUK-M each with 3 ZU-23s around them for point defence. The Tunguskas are there for providing limited anti-air until I can move my BUKs in. The only potential flaw here is the lack of artillery in this deck, but since I play more defensively I figured that I might as well use my MiG-29s and Hinds to provide support to my tanks and infantry.

Further refining my decks to make them even more authentic. Had to give up Era and Type bonuses in order to have more correct units and unit types.

336th Separate Guards Białystok Naval Infantry Brigade in 1979.

BTR-70K because no BTR-60PU in WAB. Also PTUR Konkurs in BTR-70 is a mistake I've corrected.

371th Guards Berlinsky order Suvorov and Bogdan Khmelnitsky Motor-rifle regiment in 1986.

I was too lazy to re-size image so I just cut it. BO I assure, nothing is missing beside that this is 1975 era deck and availability is way bigger ;)

Current (post-2000, and 2008 livre blanc doctrine), there are 4 per firing section (TrF1, Auf1, Caesar), and iirc 3 firing section per battery. (Battery = company equivalent), which puts it at 12 guns per battery.

There should be 3 batteries per regiment, with a Batterie de Reconnaissance Brigade (BRB) per regiment along with the usual support and recon teams, but its not unheard of to hear of regiments only being able to field 2 batteries due to various circumstances.

I'm not 100% sure on the numbers because I left my doctrine book at the office so I can't give you the official stance of the brigade/division level staff's organization regarding artillery assets.

This could help you though:

http://www.defense.gouv.fr/terre/presen ... artillerie

http://www.defense.gouv.fr/terre/presen ... artillerie

http://www.defense.gouv.fr/terre/presen ... -d-afrique

The 40e RA belongs to the 2nd Armored Brigade, the 1e RA to the 1st Armored Brigade, and the 68e RAA to the 3rd Mechanized Brigade.

Each regiment has different numbers of firing batteries in practice despite that in doctrinal theory they should be all the same.

Mind you, most of the equipment is being phased out in favor of the Caesar. Pity that we dont have access to towed guns yet in Wargame.
