In case people missed it in the general Wargame forum, here's a shameless self-advertisement ;) the replay center is up and running, for everyone's convenience. Uploading there is easy, no ads, no shenanigans, just replays and an interface to search & sort them.

Quick suggestions for an improvement. Is it possible to put the reported score under a spoiler tab when looking at the details of a replay? You want to check the details because you want to know the level of the players involved etc, but you have to try not looking at the reported score in order to not spoil the results of the match.

Just a minor thing, overall seems to be an excellent website though.

about time somebody made a replay center for alb.

the interface is excellent, makes everything really use to navigate. one problem is that all downloads are in .rar format...why can't you just download the original game file? It's an extra step to extract and relocate it when we can simply download replays directly into the wargame saves folder.

This is an issue I fought with in my head for a while... and in the end I figured I'd serve the files as zipped. However I allow uploading as plain replay files. Why?
1. My hosting plan has no upload limits as far as I know. Also it's much easier to upload when you don't need to zip the file first.
2. The replays in their plain format take space. I want to compress them on the server end to save space.
3. When people download, why make them download a 10Mb file while they could download a 1Mb file? Zips can be opened by Windows by default anyway, plus the replay files inside the zips are named according to the replay title. It's easy to just choose to open it, and then extract the replay to the replay folder.

Back in European Escalation the replay contents themselves were already zipped so there wasn't any need to do this but in ALB the data is uncompressed and eats several megabytes of space. This is why I decided to go the zipped way.

I just want to say the replays could use no archiving. It takes time to unpack them and is irritating.
