I ran into this. Or, most likely, my inner Yugo sense lead me to it.

This is a R-40TD on a jihadmobile in Tadmur AFB (Palmyra), around 2014. I know, it is OOTF, but...

55 kg warhead. 50ish km range (well, air launched).

IIRC R-40 are/were used as unguided artillery rocket. Also isnt this a ISIS creation?

Enjoyed somewhat Death Lobby from Kenneth Timmermann. Couple of interesting points from reading:

Project Fao/Mirage 2000 for Iraq:
First talks with France about Mirage 2000 were hold in 1979, supposed to skip Mirage F-1 going directly to Mirage-2000. Iran-Iraq War however changed the plans.

Iraqi-French Project Fao was formulated in 1989:
1. Facility in Iraq to allow doing complete Mirage midlife overhaul, rebulding airframe and engines.
2. Aircraft factory in Iraq for complete assembling of Alphajet trainer (134 planes, together with Westgermany), full technology transfer included.
3. Delivery and some assembling of 54 Mirage 2000-S low level penetration bomber, equipped with terrain-following radar.

Proposed price? $6,5 billion :) Why not realised? Money shortage, Kuwait and the following story.

*****
AS-30L laser-guided missile was already used against Iran's oil terminals before french airforce received first missiles.
French Thomson-CSF designed whole array of ECM pods for Iraq aimed to jam NATO aircraft (think of NATO-armed Israel and Iran). Therefore these pods were not used by french themselves.

*****
Late (1989)french upgrade program for iraqi soviet-made planes, at least partially done:
-Ground attack radar for Su-25.
-Weapon system upgrade for Mig-23/27 enabling those to launch various PGM.
-Side scan surveillance cameras for iraqi F-1 and MiG-25 which flown recon missions from Jordan. Those gave Iraq possibility to map the area all the way to the Tel-Aviv.

The T-55 Engima is the sexiest T-55 out there.....
Would be a nice heavily armored tank, decent fire support tank for its price
Is like T-55 and T-80u had a baby together.

I don't really understand why you'd want to imagine that the Iran-Iraq War never happened, given that Iraq is basically viable solely due to the stuff that it built or received as a direct result of that war. I think part of the Baathist Alliance concept involves accepting that it will never be generally top tier or have coalition options that make it so. It can definitely be a terror in mech though.
