Becuz it was design to target strategic bombers and missiles, which are not ingame
Patriots only ingame becuz US infantry sucks and USA needed motorized AA
Which kind of S-300 are we speaking?
Because S-300P series were designed for PVO and later export. So PT/PS never would face any tactical AC except some very unique places in USSR while export PMU variant with 75 km range and no command battery in NSWP would do in a war. Every S-300PMU battery had ST-68U besides the Clam Shell radar, while USSR S-300PT/PS regiment or brigades were different.
1 command battery with Big Bird radar, 360 deg. scan in azimuth, PESA in elavation.
up 4. missile battery is called S-300 regiment
5-6 missile battery is called S-300 brigade
Each missile batter had Clam Shell for low levet target search but med and high alt missile batteries got target coordiantes only from the command battery. In ultimate last chance case Flap Lid (RPN = FCR) could be used for sector search mode which was not 360 scan...
S-300V is a tottaly different animal even is called S-300. It it front level SAM for Army.
In very short here, I made for data supply for modeling SAMs and units better in a Fligth sim.https://www.mediafire.com/folder/9ev10e ... 13-07-2016
