Beta testing

Postby GeneralGonzo » Fri 1 Jul 2011 08:55

Hi,
with the experiences from the R.U.S.E. Beta, I would strongly recommend a closed (and maybe open beta later) for the game.
It´s essential especially for balancing reasons to make a beta.
In R.U.S.E. (and even Act of War) there were some imbalance problems which weren´t fixed after all. A beta gives the chance to fix these things to a minimum right before release.

With release date planned for November and a good beta with many feedback lasting at least for 3 months (watch Blizzard games for a comparison), a beta could/should be announced within the next few weeks.....
every board needs a general !

Especially since 300+ units are announced, a beta is definitely a good idea.

There will be a beta and it is in the near future. I can say no more.

But the problem with closed betas is always the same: how do you chose who will have access and who wont?

Will it be on a first come first served basis? Or with preorders ? ...

or simply for misc players with beta key to win.

Why only make playing a game like that to community players and not just to open the beta to more people ?

Not everyone has a Facebook. I don't like vandalizing someones wall so they can read what I write only to come back and vandalize my wall :P
