I play DDR and BRD, mostly because I was born in the former and served the latter.

The more interesting question is why I like playing North-Korea (as of late), Denmark and France. NK reminds of some hard-core DDR set in Asia, Denmark is a total underdog and I have personal fond memories of that country, and France's playstyle is the total opposite to W-Germany.

I almost always play minor nations (sometimes CW, BD or NSWP)

BLUFOR
UK: Because of national bias and Heavy armored vehicles.
Norway: Fave nation in ALB, glorious Fallskjermjeger and NOAH. Cannot wait for update.
Canada: I JUST LIKE IT! Recce are amazing and I have a strange love for the TH 495. C2 MEXAS is very good and is the best looking tank.
ANZAC: M113 army with Digger spam. (I will die of happiness if the ASLAV PC gets 5 cards.)
South Korea: K1 fav heavy(?), Motorized deck is my guilty pleasure and the recon section is very good, the marines are awesome.
Japan: Rangers fave recon team, F 15J is freaking awesome and the Type 75 MLRS is hilarious when 8 of them are launched at minimum range.

REDFOR
East Germany: Best Infantry nation and has an spectacular support section, airforce is pretty good and the MIG 29 is sexy.
CSSR: Nice unique units (AGS 17 Team, Mi 24 S 24 etc), Dana best non 10 second arty and the T 72M1M is the most cost effective tank.
USSR: Has pretty much everything I'm spoiled for choice whenever I make a deck, BMD 2/VDV 90 combo sprinkled with Spetsnaz is just epic.

I play pretty much everything. My game % is an even split between BLU/RED, and I bounce around between nations/coalitions depending on my mood. Lately for BLU I've done a lot of UK armored, because hitting someone with 20 Challengers never gets old. I have played a lot as the glorious samurai as of late as well, I always feel like I'm playing Shogun 2: TW when I do it though. For RED, I love Bloc Party, though the Soviet Tung-M is so glorious I'm having a harder and harder time going to Bloc because the range is so glorious.

Oh... hi Longbow... ZAP! Now go away!

Hopefully the Red Dragons get a buff, because they badly need it. However, Chinese moto is powerful, and I'll do it in 10v10 spam games when I'm charging the mid.

Soviets: Best stuff there is, even if costly, or Smierch spam 4fun
NSWP: T72-stronk, and infantry decks of course
Red Dragons: infantry deck + gimmicky stuff that requires a bit more of focus to work

Eurocorps: almost-soviets in NATO version
BlueDragons: K9 and ninja-chopper for FOB-blowing fun
USA: "hi-tech" stuff, sometimes manage to make it work
Canada: who doesn't like Canada?

I like asian nations
jap, SK/NK and china of course, cause im chinese, but that doesnt mean i am patriotic but just more interested in them

USSR comes close, is more of liking their music, culture and history.

While I am a canadian by citizenship too, I just dont really like playing canada unfortunately, they just... have nothing special( while trying to focustheir infantry, they are only mediocre) ....arguably, ANZAC is better with diggers, f111c , kahu,
Canada is m-eh

Da, all those "China Rising" titles/dlc/news should be "China's Return"

When I started playing ALB, I decided that I needed to Primary in the US in order to learn how to play. So for the longest time I was simply focused on actually just one deck, tweaking it until it seemed to play well, then making small changes for the purpose of learning how different units played. Why the US? Well, arguably yes, cuz 'murrica - but part of it was they were a major country (easy learning curve), I was familiar with the gear involved, and I wanted to see how their flavor was implemented. Because wargame in general has such a massive skill curve, something familiar was just what I wanted.

I was only starting to experiment with other countries past the US/USSR when the RD beta released, forcing me to completely relearn the game. So I went back to square one to get a terrible facefull of crap infantry mechanics, making the game that much more difficult. After getting around the learning curve some I... kinda have more tastes in this game now.

I frequent American Armored and 1-2 other specializations. I try not to focus on mixed, try not to focus on artillery, and pretty much work on my ground game. Simply put? Their Infantry don't work very well. The tank selection is now really good after the few patches but the US Motorized, Mechanized don't really amaze me. At best they're okay at what they do.

Enter USSR motorized.

You know, I used to believe that Infantry in RD were pretty worthless. Then on a whim, because I like the concept and lines of BTRs, I grabbed USSR Motorized.

Holy. God. The Russians are some of the most solid infantry lineups in the game. The BTR series is so incredible that the enemy focus fires on them. Their speed and armor layout is just meant for motorized. I have FOUR whole cards of recon infantry because I can, and I'm not hamstrung by a stupid overemphasis on infantry killing over armor killing or vice versa. I'm not hamstrung by save cards like helos to stop tank advances like I would be in the American Motorized Deck. Most every unit in the lineup down to the Motorstrelki can put up a fight in the game against anything, and there's plenty of ways to get in range of whatever needs killing. The sheer number of Dragunovs I can employ also makes the USSR a great terror weapon.

It's a great winner.

Other than that, I giggle around with Red Dragons because I like the concept and want to see just how bad they are. I only pull them out when I think the team won't be ridiculously tryhard or want something of a challenge. There's a nice NSWP motorized deck filled with helos that's also amusing, but I really do not like dealing with air cavalry rushes. I used to love the concept of USSR air cav though in ALB, so I might want to try that again.

I also dally around with West Germany, but so far I haven't really been fond of them. I've been recently spoiled by an EuroCorps mechanized deck, however.

Gone are the days of ALB USSR motorised where you could actually bring some decent tanks and recreate a Soviet BTR MR-R.

Authentic specialized decks are boring. The Soviet motorized deck was the only playable motorized deck in ALB, why anyone would want to return to those days I'll never understand.
