Nerf the gun on Mig-27 series

Postby 5P00N3D » Mon 20 Apr 2015 03:08

I'm pretty sure everyone knows this by now.
The overpowered gun on Mig-27s makes them the most efficient planes in wargame.
I've seen a Veteran Mig-27 killing 2 super heavies with one run more than a hundred times (usually in 3v3 and 4v4 games) and they do so much damage compared to bluefor /and even other redfor AGM planes (usually priced at 120-160)
Please remove the Heat stat on that thing or nerf the RoF to make it fit in 95pt category.

No.

We need a better reason than the one you're giving

Right after BLUFOR Leopard 1A5 deals the same level of damage as similar-priced tanks and not 85-95 point tanks.

Did I say anything about Leo 1A5s? I get the point but it's completely unrelated to this topic.
I support the idea of nerfing Leo 1A5s and other Bluefor mediums /and or buffing acc on some Redfor mediums but you sound very sarcastic to me. :(

-1

It's good, but not overpowering. It's less effective than GAU-8 so it's not out of line.

Yeah, if it's behind the GAU-8 then it's find, no matter how bias that sounds

What's so dangerous about the MiG-27 is that you get 2 planes at high vet.

The cult of the BRRRTTT! Is going to want a word with you....

First read up on the GSh-6-30, see if you revise your opinion especially considering this dedicated ground attack weapon is mounted on a dedicated ground attack aircraft. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gryazev- ... v_GSh-6-30

Secondly in game it's no GAU-8 Avenger, it seems perfectly balanced as is, considering it needs rear and side hits with the gun to cause serious damage which is nigh impossible to achieve unless the tank is lacking AA support which is hardly the MiG-27s fault.... If I remember correctly it is KE and cannot damage most tanks frontally which makes the claimed scenario unfortunate.

For a MiG-27 to vape two superheavies in a row it would have to be a SA Kh-23/25 variant as the Kh-29 carrier salvos its entire missile payload at one. Thus the low ecm (30% max) MiG-27 in this claimed scenario appears to have had an uninterrupted run at the sides (or worse rear) of two superheavies, getting lucky with hit rolls and connecting with guns and one of its two missiles per tank as I doubt the Kh-25 @ 28 pen, let alone a Kh-23 can actually one shot most 5+ side armor tanks right? To pull this off a MiG-27 was either preying on unfortunately unsupported tanks or even worse was able to loop through enemy lines and come at the tanks from the rear.... making gun runs TOWARDS friendly airspace..

Instead of nerfing the GSh-6-30, buy a reasonable amount of AA to prevent MiG-27s with KE guns from making attack runs on the rear of your tanks.

You are right. Since it has 900kmh speed and very high accuracy, the first AGM is almost a guaranteed hit and almost every time, the gun finishes the tank.

A-10 costs 55 more points and A-10 itself can't do much without SEAD support. The point is that a vetted Mig-27 can take any tank single-handedly

Mig-27 has a HEAT gun. I even mentioned it
