New Eurofighter exports appear to be more or less ogre at this point. Who can they sell to that hasn't already got their hands on something else?

Typhoon export possibilities are far from being bright. They are out from Swiss negociations, out from Qatar, UAE, India.. and they shouldn't expect much from Malaysia nor Indonesia. And AFAIK, they are not concerned with Finland negociations either.

If there is no more contract, production line will close in 2 years, when Rafale's will be at maximum production rate well past the mid 2020s.

Mérignac is right in the middle of the Bordeaux vineyards (Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan, ...). Believe me, they've got much better (and expensive) to drink than bubbling Champagne ...

Qatar is going to sign a contract for 24 Rafales with an option to buy 12 more.

I only hope this means they will be able to open a second line at the Mérignac plant.

Dassault just announced on France Inter radio (edit : originally Europe 1) that they will actually open a second assembly line for Rafales. This is good news for all involved, the clients, but also Thales, Snecma, MBDA...

Dassault just announced on France Inter radio that they will actually open a second assembly line for Rafales. This is good news for all involved, the clients, but also Thales, Snecma, MBDA...

What I dont like is to who they sell their jets(except India). Countries like Egypt arent stable and Qatar plays a bizarre role in the ISIS war(Saudi Arabia also did some bizarre things like supporting ISIS financially)
