My Wargame YouTube channel (RienNeVaPlus/Iloenz199)

Postby Oliver » Thu 23 Aug 2012 11:05

For anyone interested, I recently began doing videos on YouTube. As it seems like nobody is actually doing Wargame gameplay, I thought that it would be a good idea to do that. I'll also cast a variety of other games like Battlefield, World of Tanks, Sleeping Dogs and more.

Here is the first Wargame cast:

Sorry for the bad video quality, I hope this will change on the next one.

Yeah, I don't think that we can do anything about that though.

Just a curiosity: What program do you use to record your videos?

I'm using xSplit and I publish them at http://www.twitch.tv/ (nothing there yet). From twitch I can transfer my videos to youtube.

Me thinks that with my current settings I can livestream 1080p HD-stream but need to do some testing before I'm sure.

I use Fraps but compress with MediaCoder. MediaCoder does a very good job in compressing (64GB->400MB) but as you see the quality has gone terrible. I'm now trying Avidemux, though the files get a lot larger there (around 2GB)

Ok. I have some comments about fraps...

I start now testing livestreaming with sepsi77. Wish me luck :).

[edit]Test is now done and I'm quite pleased with quality. Twitch splitted video to three parts, I now upload them to youtube, cut some nonsense off and combine them to one video[/edit]

ps. I used fraps but those files it make are ridiculously huge. Perhaps because of that, it feels quite heavy (storing huge amounts of bytes strains your cpu and other computer stuff - me thinks). Now I'm beginning to like xSplit. You can store videos directly to your computer or save them to twitch -> and youtube.

ps2. I used Windows Live Movie Maker to compress fraps huge avi-files. It retains quality pretty well - only downside is that it can only make .wmw-files.

Battlefield 3 series now up, the next video will be Wargame again.

I'll try to go for that upload pattern:

Some other game - Wargame - Some other game - Wargame ...

New Wargame video is up now. We had a few technical problems with sound echoeing and broken mics, so the voice quality is (again) rather bad. Sorry for that. Hope you enjoy.
