Organizing Saturday Evening Divisional Battles - 7v7

Postby samba_liten » Sun 19 May 2013 10:40

Greetings one and all!

Having read BTR's excellent guide to Soviet historical organizations, I'd like to try them out in game.

I am organizing a 7v7 battle. One Soviet motorized rifle division, versus one US mechanized division. The year will be 1985+ for this game. Other years may or may not be arranged at a later date.
Players will be limited to certain decks.

For the pact side:
Player 1; Divisional HQ, Recon Battalion, AT Battalion, Assigned CAS air assets Jereth
Players 2 and 3: Motorized Rifle Regiment (BTR) Avtomat and Tressa
Player 4: Motorized Rifle Regiment (BMP) Beny
Player 5: Tank Regiment Corsair
Player 6: Artillery Regiment, Helicopter Squadron cphoenix
Player 7: SAM Regiment, Assigned SEAD, air superiority air assets Fred

Reserves
Kozakh
Please check BTR's guide, or my attached document for details on what is included in each deck. Keep in mind that although you won't be expected to follow the guidelines exactly, you WILL be expected to keep in the spirit of your unit.

For the Nato side:
http://www.wargame-ee.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=93&t=29049&p=213487#p213487
Use the mechanized division.

The NATO side will consist of; (all copied from the link above. Please click it for more details!)

AOE Heavy Division (Mechanized)
2 Mechanized Brigades- 2 players
Each with;
M2 Bradleys w/ riflemen-60 (that is the most you can get)
M3 CFV- 18
M106A2-18 ( You'll have to use M125s too)
M1 Abrams-36 (take out the company command sections)
M60 Cmd-1
M577-4(only need 2)
1 Armored Brigade- 1 player
With;
M2 Bradleys w/ Riflemen- 36
M1 Abrams- 72 ( you'll run out of Abrams tanks Add a platoon of M60A3s)
M3 CFV-18
M106A2-18( Same as Last)
M60 Cmd- 2
M577- 4 ( only need 1)

Division Artillery- 2 players
Who will share the following;

M109s-72
MLRS-9

Division Aviation- 1 player
With;
OH-58 Kiowa-24
AH-1-36
UH-1 Cmd-1
M60A3-12
M2/M3-36
M109-3

ADA Bn- 1 player
With;

Vulcans-24 or 27
Chapparals- 24 or 0
Stingers-72 or 75

Reserves

Each team will be required to communicate using microphones during the game. There seems to be several TS3 servers available to the community, in addition to Steam, so this should be no problem.

Each team will be commanded by player 1.

The game will take place NEXT SATURDAY, May 25th (assuming enough people are interested) at 9PM East European time

Since it is 7v7 we will have to use one of Eugen's servers. Thus, the mode will be destruction, with whatever points limits are imposed by the server.

If you are interested, post in the thread. Make sure to mention side and preferred unit. First come first serve.

P.S My in-game name is Fred

Sounds great. I'm really interested in some properly coordinated realism themed combat.
Let's hope others are too.

There's some players in PLF very interested in historical re-enactment stuff like this, so I'll pass on the word. We can easily put together a team of 7 at that time, and also you're welcome to use our TS server for this even if there are no PLF people participating in the team.

Looks great, I would love to take part, preferably as PACT BMP regiment.

I could provide historical OOBs of Czechoslovak people's army. Would be nice to have minors vs minors :)

Could you detail times in UTS?
A Firefly killed Wittman...

It's a 17lbr, not a 76.2mm.

I'd definitely like to enjoy join, preferably as NATO in some capacity. However, I am basically brand new to the game. If carrying/teaching a newbie isn't too much of a deterrant, I love team-oriented, organized gameplay.

Um...what's UTS? :oops:

Beny, I've signed you up. And while i'm at it, ill call dibbs on one of the BTR regiments.

Also, yes, i'd love an OOB for the Czechoslovak people's army. Minor vs minor sounds like fun.
