to be fair electromagnetic aircraft launch has been around for a while.

But the chinese didn't use it. Most of this tech has been around for a while, at least in conceptual development. I just don't like my neighbours making axes.

yeah, I don't like it either.

but the US never really had good counterintelligence capability imo, and it's a weakness that's continuing into the digital age.
