Su27 (yes again)

Postby mitch5665 » Sat 31 Aug 2013 07:17

I know a lot of you guys are sick of hearing about the su27 but as a pact player i really notice just how much the su27 falls behind its nato counterparts (f15c). I think that to balance this there are a few possibilities, increse the speed to 1000 from 900, or replace the older semi active missiles with the ones off the mig29m. for the same price as an f15c you get a slower, worse equipped, smaller availability, with the only superiority being the su27's greater experience.... opinions?

Switch the loadout to 6 IR and 4 SA. 6 SA is redundant, and 4 IR gets wasted quick. Also, drop price to 160 maybe. 2 availability would make it OP in cat B... But nato has the eagle A so...

Why do you compare a single unit to another single unit ? Synergy people, synergy is the key ...

Nato could say :

"OH PLZ T80-U IMBA, I WANT LEO2A4 WITH HELLFIRE!"

Well considering they have insane BVR missiles which take down anything but the F14 without breaking a sweat, put simply, as a brit those buggers are responsible for more of my air casualties than any other jet, even the F3 cant really compare head to head, due to range

That's not a valid argument here... LEO2A4 is cheaper then T-80U so it MUST be worse to it... To equal priced units in the same catgory should be equaly good, however that does not mean it is not like this in the game between Su-27 and F-15... I don't know, bit yur argument is invalid

Personally my only problem with the Su-27 is that you only get one per card, which in my opinion is the reason for the complaining about Mig-31 CAP over friendly territory, why use up 2 slots for 2 (albeit very good fighters), when you can have 4 Interceptors with 11k range?

I think Su-27 should be restricted to Cat-A and have 2 per card, with only 1 card, maybe buff Mig-25 for Cat-B/C's sake. The Flanker just doesn't seem like a very competitive choice when because it basically handicaps the rest of your air force by taking up 2 slots.

Just my opinion though.

The F-15C is the king of fighters, but as for the Su-27S, as someone who plays mixed Pact I can tell you that for a non-prototype fighter, it's damn good.
A brilliant plan from the dirtiest euro-hippie: get US players to pay me for a game that I then show them how much their military sucks so I can feel better about being a communist.

If Su-27s and F-15c are balanced with each other the Su-27s would be too strong or the F-15c too weak, that`s a fact.

su 27 is a monster... only thing f15 has on it is a gun. Su27 turns better, has better vet, and thus has superior, evac, aim and accuracy. Take the half a second to micro attack that isn't down the f15s gun line, and youll smack a f15 every time.

And you shouldn't be so hip hong and dandy about sending a su27 against any f15 anyway. As its prolly over *their* ADN or in a 1v1 over in contested airspace. And in that event its a 50/50 chance either way. They're planes of extremely similar quality. And that's a very risky gambit.

In fact ... No.

So according to your theory, the more a unit costs in points, the stronger or better it should be ?

Also, comparing 2 units out of any context is relevant ?

Goddamn dear Homer ! Wake up, you will never use only one kind of units, unless you are mad, or stupid ;)
