If it is 5000m this is the case: range of the Pat

There are 5 REDFOR SEAD planes. 2 have >5000m range, China and USSR.

The other 3 have <5000m range. Poland, E. Germany and another USSR jet.

The Su-22M4P (E.G) has a range of 4900m. The Polish Su-22M4P has a range of 4200m.

Since balancing around coalitions is how it works, the way I see it is when as Eastern Block, use the E.G Su. Then gamble with whether the SEAD missile will hit the Patriot and for the Patriot to miss the Su.

That means what? 5500m ranged SEAD? Suddenly You have Reds sniping other Nato rad AA from far far away where nothing can touch them. And NATO can't. What do you do now? It hurts NATO coalitions more than Reds.

What if you don't buff Red SEAD range? Because lets be honest, SEAD is hard counter to rad AA. That simply can't be left out. What is the point of SEAD then?

5000 is too much, because even top sead has 5250 only, and that 250m extra range doesnt help as the plane is inevitably going to fly in before the missile fires

circling with a 250m tolerance is hard to especially when you cannot range it ingame

Do take into consideration that margin of 5250m sead plane compared to 4550m top AA range that is set right now is not applied to new range that will happen with Pat.

How will 5700m sead (if we speculate Pat range to be 5000m) play ball with other rad AA?

Bigger the range of Pat even bigger the problem.

Then there is the issue of EUFOR screaming: "If reds can snipe my rolands without even coming close, why can't I?" Which is tbh reasonable question. Then you buff NATO sead as well.

But suddenly Pact doesn't have something to parry that. And no, that is not the reason to beg Eugen for S300.
Buff Buk M1? But Buk M1 is in the same range category as Neva and KUB. Then buff those 2 too?

Suddenly Reds again have better guns over whole spectrum of nations and coalitions. Add Pat to other Nato nations? But what is the point then? "Flavour" is gone then.

Patriot is going to have an arbitrarily assigned range and accuracy that has nothing to do with its irl classified performance, it will however look really cool in game and will move like the wheeled German Roland which means that for once you can actually avoid counter battery artillery after shooting down someone's toy. That's good enough for me.

Moar M8 or M2/M8 LOSAT firepower for motorized/airborne/mech would have been great as would have been the M6 but at least we didn't get a glorified supply truck or some silly armed jeep. Once people get over themselves I think they will really appreciate patriot.

Yeah. But costly doesn't mean anything. Price doesn't fluctuate with level of income.
On low income game, sure it will be wet dreams for players most of the time. And people will cry when it will get destroyed.
Very high level of income (some do play it I guess) means you have crazy amount of Pats on the ground.

Well 5000 meters seems fine, the Patriot out-ranged a lot of SEAD missiles ingame, and those that outrange it would be fine at 5250m.
