How much data/month for a dedicated 10v10 server?

Postby Sovereign » Thu 30 Oct 2014 23:00

I'm interested in running a 10v10 server using a cloud server service like Digital Ocean. The pricing is based on specs and monthly data transfer (1TB and up) and changes drastically. I'm thinking the data usage will be the primary concern.

First, Can anyone estimate how much data transfer a 10v10 server will require in a month? and Second, can someone recommend which plan would be adequate for a 10v10 server? https://www.digitalocean.com/pricing/

You could go with the Level 1 from http://monstervps.de. Works for me and has no traffic limits.

Thank you for the reply Xcell. While that is a good solution I live on the western side of the US and would like one closer to home. I'll take a look at the specs and look for similar. If anyone knows of any good US based services that would be exactly what I'm looking for.

On my server I have a lot of people that play from east coast and nobody has problems. Still have a look at http://lowendbox.com . I am sure you will find something to your liking there. Digital ocean offers aren't imagined for this kind of usage.

Thanks I'm looking at the site now. There are some really good looking offers but again I run into the traffic limit problem. I'm not sure that it is actually a problem though since I'm not sure how much data traffic a 10v10 server produces in a month. Most are capped at 1 or 2 TB. This looks like a good north american option but I'd really like to have a service located west of the Mississippi. http://www.ovh.com/us/vps/vps-classic.xml

Don't worry 1 TB is enough for Wargame server. My VPS used only 40 gigs of traffic(in 1 week) and thats with Teamspeak on the same machine.

Eugen limits you to 5 Wargame servers for both games (WAB and WRD)
