E3 hype lacking

Postby chemdude8 » Mon 15 Jun 2015 21:13

Gamespot doesn't list AoA as a major game on their e3 info page and beyond that it isn't even listed as a confirmed game in their complete list either.

Are people still bothering with E3? It's essentially just a marketplace to market Nike and Doritos these days.

Cynicism aside, that is quite unfortunate. Especially when PC is getting more buzz as a platform recently. We're also in a situation where it feels like Eugen is one of the single few RTS developers around these days, so you'd think people would be interested in reporting their new game for the good old RTS crowd out there.

American companies and triple A+ tend to be at E3. I think Eugen would be all over something like GamesCom.

Well the AoA post said something about the fight continuing at e3 I thought? So I was under the impression they were there.

Per the AoA Twitter "The conflict extends to Los Angeles during E3! Come prove your valor from 16 to 18 June." So I'm expecting then to be there, they even retweeted some media company about being able to play the game at e3. Hopeful we'll get a date for early access and was looking for if they had a time slot for announcements or demos during the event.

Ign also doesn't have AoA listed....

Just me or does it seem like focus aren't marketing this game properly? And yeah, I've also not seen AoA on any game site.

E3 is a dying platform, only a few AAA developers are even bothering supporting it anymore.

Eugen not supporting E3 is probably a good omen, because it means it knows how to spend it's money...

Absolutely!
The smaller game conferences and game shows are better publicity, since it's more about showing off games rather than making a ridiculous commercial jippo. Anyone who has been unfortunate to follow Microsoft's E3 press-conferences for the past few years should be well aware of how atrocious E3 is these days.

Why any game consumer would pay the slightest bit attention at E3 is beyond me. It would be more interesting and educational to sit around watching Youtube ads for three days.

Is Focus Home Interactive there? If they are a I assume they are demoing a few games that they are the publisher on including AoA.
